I believe until the end of the month.
Started demoing QuadraVox yesterday thinking that I wouldn't need it as I already have the 910 and H3000, but I'm getting different results and I'm really enjoying the workflow.
Used it to varying degrees on a track using a sampled piano, Polymoog strings and guitar power chords and got some big, lush sounds happening surprisingly quick.
Good to hear the sale should go for a couple of weeks, but I think I've already decided!

I tried the Octavox demo when it was on sale and it was not interesting for me. Since Quadravox is a lite version of Octavox, I will also pass this time.

Just a chime in about Paragon Backup which is free right now. Dont do it. It is the single worst program I've ever had. I bought the full version and the simplest things are convoluted beyond belief. Image a backup program with a 170 page manual.I just stopped trying. They do offer tech support and respond to emails. The responses are as bad as the manual.

I'd suggest Macrium free instead.

Post

I've given up on back up programs. I've been screwed so many times with being unable to open old backups because they no longer support that version or they go out of business. I just copy the files now.

Though I have to say when a system image works, it sure saves a lot of time.

V16 has a new interface and it's very decent. Not difficult at all. Even though I'm an Acronis Trueimage user myself I'd prefer Paragon BR16 over any of the free alternatives. It has much better feature set including things like file and folder based backups (instead of full disk) with the ability to filter file types and such. File and folder based backups is a huge space saver.

Paragon BR16 actually lets you back up into standard virtual disk image files that can be directly mounted in Disk Management app or in any popular hypervisor like Hyper-V, Vmware or Virtualbox.

So, EW Goliath. Seems like a great deal. But it is also old. And frankly, I'm a little over my budget this month for toys.

Is it worth keeping my eye on it for the next time it's on sale?

I have their Hollywood Strings and brass that I got during the going green sale. Oh, and the pianos. Because you never can have too many pianos. Or marimbas. Okay maybe not marimbas. But I haven't really used them much yet.

I was looking for a file and tried mounting an old system image. Now granted, it was an image that wouldn't load last time my HDD crashed and I had to put in a new one. But I just got errors.

But I do need to figure something out. My hard drives are getting a little full. And I have things copied two or three times. But organizing it all takes a few empty drives and a lot of time.

I did get BR16, but just seeing all those drives..... Sigh. :dog: :o

sonicstate is brilliant. In addition to the news aggregation thing, Nick also does a weekly hour long show (4pm UK time on Wednesdays) where they discuss the week's music/production/gear news. That's streamed live and also available via youtube, plus they post in-depth reviews and interviews on youtube too. It's been going for donkey's-years - so there's a mass of great content on his youtube channel.
just added Sound Bytes Magazine

SoundBytesMag is a wonderful work of love.

I just bought into the Leap Into The Void 500 Group Buy. Thank you for posting that offer here and in the bargain thread. I would not have known about it otherwise.

I also grabbed Paragon backup. I use their NTFS software on my Mac and it is awesome. I'll try out the free backup software and see how it goes. I appreciate it.

Also, Vespers has his Blitz Bass course on sale until today for $29. Not sure how long it has left...
Edit: Actually they just replied to my email: "Sale is open until 11:59pm PST today."

The same course in warpacademy is also on sale but double the cost...

Bought at vaspers.ca, but it's weird how he slice up his own audience between two basically identical sites minus couple extra courses with other trainers.
