Frustrating problem with plugins in Tracktion 7 x64 [Resolved]

Installed both 32 and 64 bit versions as I have both types of plugins.

After installation, I run x86 as admin and run a plugin scan on my VST2 x86 folder. It finds all plugins with no problems.

I then open up my x64 version as admin and run the plugin scan. I first did the VST3 folder and it scanned them. All four VST3 plugins are showing the folder location in red and the message "deactivated". WTH? OK, so I run the VST2 x64 plugin scan, and it correctly registered about half of them with a long message saying the others were found, appear to be plugins, but aren't loading properly.

So, I need some help on this. How do I reactivate the VST3 plugins and how do I get 7 to correctly recognize the other half of my plugins. The 32bit version of Kontakt 5, for example, registered fine in the x86 version of Tracktion 7 but the 64bit version fails in the x64 version of Tractkion 7.

I don't think I have ever had such problems in any DAW getting my plugins registered and working.

First thing to try would be running T7 as admin, see if that helps. Just right click the exe file, and "Run as administrator"

Already running as admin.

I have made a little progress. I have gotten another 1/3 of those not showing up to finally load but I don't know how or what I did except restarting, rescanning, and restarting yet again. About 10 plugins still won't work.

To me, T7 seems better than previous versions, but it does still seem a more fragile process than in most other DAWs. Repeating the cycle of deleting failed plugins from the list, and recsanning eventually works here, with a very large list of plugins, and Ive only got one plugin that it never recognises, and that's one specific version of a Waves plugin that's wrapped rather oddly.

Well I figured it out, and it was not T7.

Some of the plugins that weren't working with NI and Izotope ones so I opened them as stand alones just to make sure they were still working. And none of them opened. All through up errors messages and wouldn't start.

I used some Google-Fu on the error code and after an hour of research found that it was likely a VC++ error and further the 2010 one. I uninstalled them plus the latest 10 security update for them, rebooted, reinstalled, all applications are opening, and T7 found and activated them no problem this time.

I was running 7 and updated to 10 so maybe VC++2010 got corrupted during the upgrade or maybe it was the security update as I had problems getting it to fully complete. It might have corrupted it as well.

But thankfully I got it worked out in only a few hours and it wasn't a T7 exclusive issue. That is great!
