It should, but we're talking steinberg....

there's A LOT of things that should happen, they always find a way to make for damn sure it doesnt.
A little resentment there? Does any other program have track freeze?
Every single one.
I did not know that.

I did this again and I got 6:23 total time to freeze, BUT as I was talking from memory it was only FOUR tracks and a song of 2 minutes length. (I was diddling with 4 diff songs this week, so...) Not 6 and 3:30.

This is with Sampletank2. Now ST2 has lots of its own onboard quality effects therefore NO Cubase FX effects were applied to these tracks (4 stereo "audio-like" from ST2) and one of these tracks only comes into play for the last 10 seconds of play.

So... dont know maybe its total the lack of FX effects.

I also never used the 35 build, stayed at 33.

But the declaration of 30 minutes made earlier by someone seems a bit lenghty?

I see. Thank you.

I ended up bouncing down. SX 2 can bounce in real time. Otherwise it would take just as long as freezing.

I liked the freeze because with four ST2 tracks to bounce, at different markers, and to check that each of these worked well....

Before, in VST days, there is the management of these muted or X-ed parts that I have to properly co-relate toi their bounced counterparts, and I always accidently loose one thinking I'm cleaning house whne I' not...
So maybe it is more convenient for my caotic studio practices.

I noticed that the freeze made 8 files totalling 38 Megs; 2 of 13Meg, 3 of 5Meg and 3 of 1K (only 1K maybe they were unused muted ST2 tracks) I also was using maybe 7 instruments with multiple ST2 effects applied, not a whole lot.

FX-MAX FX-Freeze is faster than the internal (cubase sx2) freeze function.
and it can ultra-freeze / unload from memory.

its a little more complicated than the internal freeze,
but however: it IS faster ...
