T6 Export Files are Silent No Matter What Setting I Use

I have used older version of Tracktion for years. Never had anything like this problem.

I render and render and render and every file is silent. Believe it or not I have been recording for months but have never needed to export before now. Can's say if it ever worked.

It is maddening. It is not the stable Tracktion of legend tonight.

Naturally I have a deadline tonight, so I apologize for my not-so-nice attitude.

There was something like this a couple of years back. Are you saving files as MP3s and adding metadata in the form of song titles, artist, etc? Try doing it without adding any text at all. I can't remember exactly which character caused the problem. It might be something different.

I've tried to find the posts about the bug I mentioned - If I recall correctly, the files were all zero-length, so if your are not zero-length it's probably something else.

I've just rendered a track in T6 and it has audible content. All I've done is highlight a track or tracks, press Export, choose Render, and then choose an output format. It plays from the Project page.

can you provide a screenshot of your render dialog?

Thanks for the replies but still no joy.

As far as a screenshot, I can tell you I've tried the default and about every other combination imaginable. Remember, I used T2 for 10 years and I (thought) I knew the settings well.

The tip about file size was most helpful. There is data in the file (length > 0) but it will not play on anything (VLC player, Windows Player, MediaMonkey et al) except withing Tracktion itself IF I import the file into the project.

I think the problem is that the mp3 engine is mangling something.

What about if you reduce the amount to render, like perhaps a single track, or a single audio clip? What happens if you start a new song and paste a single audio clip into that? Is it always MP3? What if it's a wave file?

Try "run audio engine when stopped" under options ?

I looked for the 'run audio engine when stopped' but couldn't find it...I'm sure I'm overlooking it...where is it?

I wish I could find it because this idea is most plausible. If I shut down Tracktion AND reboot the Scarlett interface I can hear something in exported files in my mp3 player...but they are distorted and unusable (I made a separate post about that issue today). So, it appears Tracktion maintains a stranglehold on the interface while it is running and leaves it dazed and confused after I shut down Tracktion.

Same result whether mp3 or wav

I really want to love Tracktion again. Maybe there is a way to release the grip of T6 and play nice with other devices.

Thank you! I was looking at the global settings page.
