Yeah. I understand why Vespers did it. They were trying to create a monthly subscription based site with warpacademy as a cooperative site with other producers, but there were not enough subscribers. So it is back to a 'pay only per product' type site now.

I recommended they lower their monthly price to $9 or less instead of $19 like before. Any more and people will drop quickly as it is too expensive as the years go by. I only do Groove3 at $99 per year (sometimes less via sales.) and ask.audio at $9 per month because they're economical. Thinking about ADSR as I think they're also $9 per month... Was with SonicAcademy YEARS ago when they had their old cheesy, broken site, but not since. Just too expensive at $160+ per year.

But I'm glad you got the course. Seems like it's worth it for $29. They should make more sales like this as I won't be paying $350 like I did for their Audio Weapons course a few years ago. He's a really nice guy and makes quality stuff. But... The market is different now. Just too many good options out there to be spending that much. And that goes for plugins too. Companies need to reevaluate their pricing and lower it now as 'they ain't worth what they used to be'.

Like iZotope and Soundtoys recently have done. I was able to buy into and get ALL their stuff very cheap this year with their 'loyalty bundle' offerings and other subsequent offers. Got pretty much everything from izotope for like $500 or so ultimately, and all of Soundtoys for $175 based on having owned a few freebie products already. Smart. So smart of them. I would never have bought all their stuff otherwise. Love Ozone 7, but not for $500 for that alone. Nor their packages at $1500+. Same for Soundtoys and everyone else.
Glad to see some companies like these two understand the 'time value of money'.

I see Rob Papen is doing it now with his package pricing based on people owning 1, 2 or 3 products, etc. That style is smart. Eventide too, but I'm waiting for a deal on their Anthology package for half the current $599 price for owning 3 products. Sadly I only own one product from them so far. E.g. the freebie from Focusrite & Eventide this month. Wished they give away the analog channel again. I missed that one! Dang it...

Marketing matters.

Slate was doing sales like a mad man for years and it's paid off. He's worked hard and raised quality and teamworked with some of the best in the industry. Now he can charge a premium. But I still won't be throwing away $25 per month on a monthly plugin subscription. I personally only buy at a discount. I'm a value investor. A Warren Buffet wannabe of investing into the discount margin like his mentor Graham did. Just with fun audio plugs instead. :)

For example I FINALLY bought Waves SSL 4000 after waiting now for 4-5 years to buy it. I wasn't EVER going to pay $799. For me, $180.79 on sale this week is finally worth it. (Thank you Uncle E for price matching! Can I say that?) I bought it just for the master buss. Sounds beautiful! Finally have that true SSL sound. And to my ears it sounds better than the UAD version. It has that wonderful warm but full tone. It pops and hypes just right without being harsh. The Whitesides preset, the SSLCenterMastering preset and the Dave W preset all come closer to giving me 'that sound' than most everything else I've tried and I own ALL the other plugins except for the UAD the Softube console and the Duende SSL emulations. Yet. :) Give me deep discounted sales and I'll buy those too. lolz.

But even that price is actually still high these days considering the competition and the number of alternatives out there. My Slate VBC comes very close. Even my Kush N transformer for $20 is awesome! lol. There's some phat emulation out there in places.

Anyway, Vespers and others need to ensure they post here in these type deals threads regularly or their missing out on sales that otherwise would have occurred. Rekkerd's Deals section is another one I check. I'm sure there are many others...

Don't mind paying if the content is good. Not naming specific courses, but of the 4 I bought on warpacademy, at least 3 I consider bloated with beginner content despite their description claiming otherwise. There are gems in-between, but it's a hard sell to buy them at full price.

Anyhow thanks for the catch at that price. Looks to be at least good dinner TV.

Though I have to say when a system image works, it sure saves a lot of time.
Paragon BR16 actually lets you back up into standard virtual disk image files that can be directly mounted in Disk Management app or in any popular hypervisor like Hyper-V, Vmware or Virtualbox.
I was looking for a file and tried mounting an old system image. Now granted, it was an image that wouldn't load last time my HDD crashed and I had to put in a new one. But I just got errors.

But I do need to figure something out. My hard drives are getting a little full. And I have things copied two or three times. But organizing it all takes a few empty drives and a lot of time.

I did get BR16, but just seeing all those drives..... Sigh. :dog: :o
Pays to try different things til you hit upon some thing that works for you ,but I was in the same boat recently and Macrium free was perfect for me. Didk Image was quick and the manual was as simple as it should be. Files in the image are accessible also. Most folks will want to do incremental updates or images ,no way should you have to read a book about the history of backing up to do so.

Good. But the old customers (like me) lose all reward points from the old site. I know... In your agreement is stated that rewards can be canceled/invalidated at any time, but it is a bit frustrating.

There should be a trial version on the Cakewalk site.. please give it a try.

IMO Z3ta is a very bright synth... that can be beneficial or not depending on your desires. I think Synthmaster covers more ground though.. if you are very comfortable using Synthmaster, I think I'd consider just buying presets for it than buying another synth.

That is to say, we all have our preferences for synths.. I like Spire and Sylenth but someone else might like Synthmaster or Z3ta more. So my thoughts on Z3ta specifically will not benefit you as much as downloading the trial and seeing if it clicks for you! And I wouldn't buy a product just because its cheap. :)

+1

Not to mention, Cakewalk Support has been mired in backlog for months now. You're likely in for a long wait with any activation or support issues.

looks as if they have taken the "month to month" price from the AVID site and just multiplied it by 12 ... - basicly the most expensive way you can go :clown:  :dog:

...AFAIK 100$ is the cheapest when you have an update plan already and renew it annualy?!?

Uncle E are you there? I saw the exclusive price on T-racks Max. Any chance for something similar with the upgrade version? Thanks!

Sorry, it's only the full version that is on sale.

Just noticed that if you buy two plugins at pluginboutique, (Edit: Meant Plugin Alliance. Thanks Fleer.) they take an additional 20% off of the price on top of the already steeply discounted sale prices.

So buying both bx rockrack pro and sandman, it comes to $38.40. THAT's insane. Can't pass that up.

And I've got to rant for a minute here:

Anyone else had their NI Komplete Ultimate 9 hard drive fail? I read it was an epidemic at one point as they chose to try and save costs and a slew of customers (like me!) have been affected. I only ever used it once for the original install after purchase, and even then several of the installers were bad. At the time they kindly let me download the installers for the corrupt installers. Now the drive only clicks even though it's sat unused for the last two years.

I reached out to NI back 11 days ago and they STILL haven't seen this ticket through to completion for a hard drive replacement. Are they always this slow? It's really lessening my opinion of NI. And the worst part is, that they don't offer downloads of the original installers to me. Only updates. They suggest I buy Komplete 11. Seems like they're stalling and trying to use this as a way to get me to upgrade to 11 for $400. No thanks. Stop being cheeseballs NI. I've got 1gbit fiber. Just let me download all my installer files please.....! Jeesh. Not cool. Not nice of them to be treating customers who have bought so much from them like me. Ult 8, Ult 9, 2 Maschine gen 1 hardware units, and other odds and ends over the years. Not being impressed right now by them....

Wished they had Uncle E's level of customer service perfection. Doesn't seem to be the case though sadly.

Okay, rant over. Hopefully eventually they'll straighten this out for me. And hopefully they start including quality hard drives again like they had in Komplete Ultimate 8. That thing was a work of art! Heavy brushed aluminium. That HD still works perfectly. Seems someone at NI was trying to cut costs when 9 was released and it's now biting me in the ass.
