With the 64-bit VST2 in Live 9.6.2 64-bit and my old Core 2 Quad Q6600 CPU it takes around 12-14% (display in Live) for one voice but with 4-voice Poly (or Unison) the maximum for one instance seems to around the doubkle amount of a signgöe voice or even less so especially with polyphony it is quite efficient.layzer wrote:hmm...minimum specs for the win vst is XP and 32bit is available. These guys will stay in business.
but how does it compare CPU efficiency-wise to great free synths like Charlatan, Synth1, PG8X and Dexed?
Even with 8 instances and 4 voices each (= 32 voices at once) it does not overlad teh CPU here.
Of course this also depends on the sample rate and buffer settings you use in your DAW (the values mentioned are for 44.1 kHz and 512 samples).
Soon i will also test on a newer i5 Quad Core CPU and it should be even better there.
Have not really tested the 32-bit version yet and i am also using Windows 10 64-bit so no dedicated 32-bit system anyway.
