Hi there,

I'm trying to use Melda plugins (64Bit, non VST3) on a PC, where I don't have an administrator rights and where I can't use the installer. Let's just say, it's not my workplace computer.

So I just copied the dll files from the computer I'm making music with. But when I want to use them in MuLab on the non-admin-PC, it tells me that the file "MeldaProductionAudioPluginKernel64.dll" is missing on the computer. The weird thing is, this file doesn't exist on my production PC either, nor does Google know much of it.

So simple question - can I use Melda plugins without the use of the installer and what's up with that file?

Thanks

It is on your production PC and it is essential - >95% of the functionality of all the plug-ins is in the kernel.

Without Administrator rights you will not be able to copy across the kernel dll file. You should approach the Administrator and get them to run the installer.

That's correct. You could theoretically hack it by changing the global system PATH variable and placing the DLL there, but I'd highly recommend not to do so. Anyways the DLL on your main computer is in C:/Windows.

Seems that W7 did a bad job indexing my system partition. The file was actually there and yes, I need in fact admin rights, so... Yeah...

Thanks anyway guys!
