T7 Problem: Regular CPU spikes on 1 of 4 cores

In WIN 7, When I open Task Manager while T7 (doesn't matter if it's 32-bit and 64-bit) is running, the 2nd of the 4 cores of my CPU spikes regularly at intervals of about 18 seconds. It's like clockwork, or a heartbeat. This doesn't happen when running other programs, but always with T7. I've been having lots of clicks, pops, dropouts lately and have tried all sorts of things to get things to work properly. That's when I noticed this behaviour. I'm not sure if it's actually causing any problems, but I wonder if it's normal. Can anyone else just open task manager to see if this happens on their PC as well?

If you run ProcExp by Sysinternals at the same time as the spikes happen, you can move the cursor over the spike in its CPU graph and it'll tell you what prog/process spiked.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.
