Revolutionising mixing: Izotope goes first, but MeldaProduction later and better?

Vojtech has always indicated that he is working on something that will revolutionise mixing as we know it.

These days, Izotope is saying the same about its upcoming Neutron.
From what I read on their website and in some leaked webpages, it seems to have some interesting ideas for applying artificial intelligence to the mixing task, but I would expect MeldaProduction to come up with something more radical and ambitious.

Are my expectations reasonable, Vojtech? Any vague deadlines?

I wondered the same thing when I saw Neutrino and the talk of 'mixing revolution'. I tried it out... it's so incredibly subtle that I haven't found a use for it yet. I'm really excited for some of the big projects Vojtech has mentioned in the past. Hope to hear more of them in the coming weeks.

I'm pretty sure their spectral balancing is a weaker version of MSpectraldynamics and their new eq suggestion feature is something I believe was talked about for the Mixing revolution.

Is the "Mixing revolution" one plugin or a new series of plugins?

I thought exactly the same, already when listening to Neutrino.
However, I think these guys are picking up on something others forget: ease of use. I do not like that Neutrino just offers four instruments and a couple of knobs but, as an owner, I wish MSpectraldynamics had more presets to get closer to that ease of use with specific instruments, without giving up the option of tweaking everything.

I personally don't have a problem with spectral dynamics but cleaner ui like the one in turbo comp wouldn't hurt for some people. That said I'm dead against the 'instrument' concept. As a sound designer for games I rarely use instruments, especially in a conventional way, and it would really put me off a tool to have decisions taken away from me and put inside a magic black box. But I know I'm in the minority.

It looks very interesting. Neutron in the big brother of the free plugin Neutrino. I'm looking forward to see what Vojtech does.

The gui looks great and clear. I'm really excited what it will bring to the floor.
Neutrino sounds subtle but not wrong.

Perhaps the next mixing contest should be MSpectraldynamics, active presets. Have people make presets and them demo it on a few sources. Best presets win the contest.

Ok, so Neutron has 32 bands for its spectral dynamics.

If I recall correctly, SpectralDynamics has thousands, no?

no, that's just Neutrino, the little free plugin. Neutron is not out yet, so we don't know the specs.

And Neutron's Masking feature could already be handled with the aid of Melda's multi analyser, though perhaps the workflow is a bit better in Neutron.
I am disappointed Izotope didn't introduce more artificial intelligence here, to suggest solutions, as it did with the Track Assistant, which I do find interesting.
We will have to wait for Vojtech for a true "revolution in mixing"!

You are right. However, I suspect that part of the plugin is the same. Could be wrong, of course!

Hmmm, that looks just like channel strip :D. I'm aiming to something much bigger than that :D.

That's sounds very promising Vojtech, but big can also be complicated :scared: :hyper:

One thing I really hope for, is the highest focus set on usability and workflow, as advanced features only gives full meaning if it's also pretty easy to operate - so I hope (also for Meldas success) that this has top priority.
