I believe I was using Feadreader for a UI client for kvr, bedroomproducers, and I believe rekkerd, which was okay. I was also testing the Python feedparser module, but that's a different directionRational wrote:I've never figured out RSS sadly. Maybe it's the stupid name. But what RSS client are you using? I'd love to set up rss to let me know when there are new posts on this and the bargain no chat thread for example. Probably simple and well known, but just not by me. Any advice appreciated.

I'm sure other browsers have similar add-ons/extensions.

Thanks for the RSS info guys. I'll check it out.
Edit: Okay. I checked out live bookmarks. Seems like it only makes a live bookmark for the main threads in the for sale section. I don't want to clutter this thread up with this question though, so if someone can point me to a thread on this where I can get a little browser or desktop alert every time someone posts to the bargain no chat thread and this one, that'd be perfect. Thanks in advance.
And official pricing for Neutron is at the end of this article here:

Looks like Slate came out with a Distressor plugin and a new reverb plugin. Both look very good.

Don't worry about cluttering up the thread. I've seen cat memes here.Rational wrote:Thanks for the RSS info guys. I'll check it out.

If you're just interested in bargain no chat, you can subscribe to that thread. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click "Subscribe topic." You will then be notified of new posts. You can unsubscribe by clicking your name in the upper-left corner and choosing "Forum and Topic Subscriptions."
Back to RSS. Here is a list of KVR's feeds: http://www.kvraudio.com/news-feed.php
Hope this helps.

Thanks telecharge. I appreciate it.
I am subscribed to these two threads via email. But I'm looking for a way for a popup to appear on my desktop (Mac and Win 10) like twitter does when there is a new post to the thread. And it'll open the page for me to the latest post automatically when I click on it.
I know. I'm lazy. But it's faster than having to check email all the time and/or keeping both pages open in tabs all the time like I'm doing now. The RSS feeds aren't to these two pages I don't believe (Bargain, no chat, and this thread) when I just looked at those rss feeds listed. They're to other areas of the forum. Nor does RSS pop up an alert to catch my attention like I'd like either I don't believe.
Hope that explains what I'm trying to do a bit better. But I'm grateful for the input so far. Thank you.

Yeah, there are no RSS feeds for topics/threads.
There may be a better way, but you should be able to rig up something close to what you want using an email filter/rules in conjunction with an email service that has a desktop notifier.

Thanks again. I guess I could set up gmail alerts. Problem is I get a million spam emails to that account as I used it to sign up for a bunch of internet marketing crazyness back in 2006. lol. Can't seem to find a way yet to have it alert on only particular senders. That'd be perfect if it did. So far coming up dry with google searches.
And I found a new sales page: http://www.samplelibraryreview.com/deve ... r-28-2016/

Zero-G sales don't normally grab my attention but their new bundle deal is strikingly good. I'm probably going to pick up the Sound Designer Collection.

You can use the Important Mail Notifications option and teach Gmail what is important.Rational wrote:Thanks again. I guess I could set up gmail alerts. You could also create another account just for the deals that are important to you. It doesn't have to be Gmail. I'm sure other email services could work just as well.

They frequently have bundle deals like that. They just had a promo code 3x99 where you found purchase 3 sound sets for $99, which you could use to recreate a bundle. Great quality stuff though.Uncle E wrote:Zero-G sales don't normally grab my attention but their new bundle deal is strikingly good. I'm probably going to pick up the Sound Designer Collection.

I use Feedly. I can choose any KVR section as a feed (marketplace, instruments, etc.) and receive the new posts from that section. I also have the Feedly Firefox add-on that shows the newest posts.Rational wrote:Thanks telecharge. I appreciate it.
