The dude that does the "demos" pretty much sounds good with anything he's played through. Different soundcards, eq's, headphones, monitors, guitars and of course..... the player means YMMV.

Kudos for them though to make something updated.

@Sierra: Did anything ever run on the el crapitan?

Looking forward to trying v3. I always felt rockrack sounded ok but felt completely lifeless to play. I hope they improved that, v2 was hopelessly overpriced for what it was.

I really felt bad for purchasing something I would never use, but now I can upgrade to V3 for 29bucks and I have no doubt that its sound quality will be at least on par with Bassdude... I love this company. :D

When did double-posts start to creep back in? We didn't have this problem for years...

About v3.. They claim it's a code re-write and it's a "drastic" improvement over v2... Can someone confirm/comment on this?

I have v2, Mega Dual and Bass Dude
Usually use the later two but I wonder if it's worth it to upgrade the rockrack to v3

Post

I'll report tomorrow or thursday when I had a chance to try V3 - I'll upgrade anyway - pretty safe to predict that the improvement will be rather dramatic though, since the previous version sounds so bad

Didn't buy V2 when it was $29 the other week. Tried V3 player... no rush to buy the full V3!

Love bassdude and megadual is pretty awesome too. Not sure RRv3 brings anything new to the table though. Maybe when it comes down to $29 at some point but not before then!
A bit fried in the higher freqs

Not a chance! Ampsims dont come close. I still use ampsim on my laptop in front of television occasionally but in my studio room, kemper all the way.

Oh, really? All of us metalheads know Metal Zone is one of the worst pedals ever. You just can't get any good sound out of it. If they had said Boss HM-2 pedal it would been true. But Metal Zone is for the beginner with a small crappy amp and is probably the most used sold pedal and for a good reason. Maxon od808 is the most used pedal for metalplayers. Overdrive and not distortionpedals, except HM-2. You dont ruin the sound from your 5150, Rectifier etc with a crappy distortion pedal like this one.

Add an overdrive to boost it, (I don't know how good it works with software but) it will sound so big you might not even need an amp (just plug fx send/retun or for software cab. ir after it). :tu:
