Uncle E,
Was that big news the Spire discount? Or is there still something else about to drop?
And anyone checked out the Griffin products? Noticed them being used in the latest Neutron video and am curious if anyone has used the griffin powermate usb or bluetooth for audio editing and other PC tasks? Looks cool.
And it seems they have some low dollar offerings. https://griffintechnology.com/us/products/audio
And was I crazy to let the deal on the McDSP 6050 Ultimate Channel Strip pass by for $173 last week? Will I be regretting that for a while to come? Does McDSP not do sales very often? Only intro pricing? Or will another sale by them come along do you think?
Debating getting the Metric Halo producers bundle for $200 right now. They offer a $50 discount for each plugin you already own towards it. I bought the two $25 plugins this past week, so that actually gives me $100 their current offering of $299 for the bundle. Is that a must have bundle?
Edit: Just received an email reply from Metric Halo. "There are currently no new flash sales planned. The current Production Bundle sale is likely to extend for another month or two. We will email an upgrade deal in the near future. Please stay tuned."

I emailed Sweetwater on the Synthmaster Everything bundle.
"The pricing on that is temporary. It will be on that discount through October 15th."
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/SynthMasterEB
Interested in people opinions on this product. I was never interested in it because for years I didn't like their interface graphics (I'm shallow, I know), and it seemed like a shareware type product. But it seems they've raised their game and it now looks pretty good actually. Definitely tweakable and comes with a ton of content.
Opinions?

That is cool to know about Feedly, may check that out.
I know I'm considering a lot; really what I'm after is a unified view of sales alerts across relatively well-known resources that don't all have the same schema. I'm less worried about duplicates across distributors than single resource that gets cached so I know what I've seen vs. what is new, and immediately whether it's something I'm interested in. Ideally this would include a way to track new entries against a filter of specific things I want, so I can be selective about additional alerting via emails or pop-ups.
I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist, so I started writing one - something that would aggregate via RSS, raw html parsing using BeautifulSoup (but respectfully so as not to flood sites without service mechanism).
But something like that will take time, and even if there was a way to make something publicly available, I'd rather see it implemented as an aggregated push model itself to control flood, an be respective of site owners (well, as much as possible, since I'm sure in general they'd like people to see and browse more than immediate deals).

wow, the izotope neutron advanced crossgrade seems an incredibly good deal at $149 (circa $135 with additional seller discounts) instead of the normal $349, with the only requirement being owning any (non-free) izotope product. The standard version is $99 crossgrade instead of $249 full.
shame the izotope website doesn't seem to be updated for it - lots of 404 errors and can't seem to be able to find a way to download a demo of it.
added: the advanced version download link works though - just not the standard. note - they've managed to get the mac and pc buttons/links the wrong way around!

If you are not in the EU you can buy the Neutron Advanced Crossgrade from Time & Space for 90.83 GBP which currently translates to about $116 (+ applicable transaction fees depending on payment chosen).OneOfManyPauls wrote:wow, the izotope neutron advanced crossgrade seems an incredibly good deal at $149 (circa $135 with additional seller discounts) instead of the normal $349, with the only requirement being owning any (non-free) izotope product. In the current economic climate it makes sense to have a credit card with no international transaction fees handy.

I just received an email from Metric Halo offering me an upgrade to the complete bundle for $149. I currently own two products from them. Dirty Delay and HaloVerb. So that's a pretty sweet deal.
"#1 - Production Bundle with 2 plugin upgrade credits $699 $149
Order Total: $149
You Save: $550"
"Everything you need to mix!
Reg. $699 Sale $299 Your Price: $149
Here's your chance to add 6 more plugins to your audio arsenal for only $149.
That's less than $25 for each additional plugin!"
FYI. You may be receiving a similar email soon if you own any of their products.

So this is legit? They sell to anyone outside the EU/UK without issue? I seem to recall they were canceling orders a few years ago on Spectrasonics stuff. But was that because they were boxed items?

This seems to be a great tip. I just put it in my cart and it is indeed showing no VAT for a total of around $115. But are you saying if I use PayPal with them there is an additional charge? I'm about to go for this. Neutron is revolutionary.

I buy from Time & Space all the time and I'm in the U.S.
Spectrasonics has a special deal with Time and Space and will only allow them to ship to certain countries in Europe. That's a rare exception.

Re Neutron - am I missing something obvious with standard vs advanced?
I don't do surround sound and the only other difference looks to be the ability to use the various effects (eq, compressor, transient and exciter) as standalone plugins - but there doesn't seem to be much CPU difference between just having multiple instances of neutron vs using those standalone effects.

Paypal factors the transaction fees into the conversion rate. What you see is what you pay. If you use a credit card that charges transaction fees you will get an extra charge on your credit card bill. The last time I accidentally used such a card I ended up paying an additional $1.20 for a $130 charge.Rational wrote:So this is legit? They sell to anyone outside the EU/UK without issue? I always felt that the conversion rate Paypal uses is on the high end but I might be wrong. If you paid $115 they are pretty close to the actual conversion rate.
