 I dare not kick my father. He was 6'-7" (he has shrunk a bit since then with age) back in the day.
You can hear my original music at this link: https://www.soundclick.com/artist/defau ... dID=224436

Search would be nice, yeah.
"Create new folder" is already there in Z2, try right click in folder area. Edit: Oops, well, whatever it might be in your OS...

Any chance for granular synthesis in Z3?

That requires using samples yes?

Post

Well, Zebra's oscillators *are* granular. They just use wavetables and algorithms instead of samples.

We'll certainly soup up options for size and number of wavetables, and we have plans for wave file import to wavetables. Hence I guess we might meet in-between, because sample playback is still something I wish to avoid.

That said, I often associate granular synthesis with some kind of lofi sound. I wonder if that has changed in recent years... any links to examples, Reaktor ensembles or good software (I work on a Mac)?

UVI Falcon has a great sounding granular oscillator, for example. IRCAM technology. Then there's Sound Guru Mangle which also sounds pretty cool and is dead simple to use.

Ah, I see. Thx Urs, I never thought about them that way.

Very cool. :)

+1 for the Mangle. It's very capable, has a good feature list, sounds great and there's a Mac version ...

Will Zebra 3 appear in 2016?

Post

I have been assured that it will appear before I die. #1 on my bucket list ;-)

Post

Even so, as eager as I am to enjoy Z3, I still hope you live a long ( and productive) life!

My first love was Absynth, and we still have an intense relationship. Then came Zebra and a few others. And Zebra is still a mystery to me because no matter what I try, there's always a deeper level.
In fact, the only synth that matches Zebra for me is Bazille. Bazille is crazy stuff and unpredictable.
But Zebra stays the bottomless mystery.
Let 3 come when it is ready. I still have a lot to do with 2.

More than happy to wait until the u-he team is satisfied with Zebra 3. In fact, I don't want them to release it any earlier. That wouldn't be u-he. There are so many good synths out there, there's no rush for me. :)

Quite separately I would love to see a new Zebra 2 theme in the meantime.
