Can anybody edit audio files in an external editor?

Since Tracktion5, I've not been able to edit any clips with Audition.

Tracktion minimizes itself, the sound loads into Audition, but every time I try to save it: "The file is in use by another application and cannot be overwritten."

It's one of the most annoying, long-standing bugs in the program.

Is it just me or does everyone have this problem as well?
