Hi,
i suddenly encountered a problem that i never had before.
ScreenShot attached.
It looks that after opening Tracktion (v5) my Audio Device is locked forever only for Tracktion usage. all other programs can not use this Audio device any more.
Are you familiar with such an issue ?
i could not find any working solution for that.
i would appreciate your advice.
Thanks.

I believe you'd have the same issue with any other application while it is open (i.e. media player, skype, etc.). Set your audio device prior to evoking the application.
If you want Tracktion to use a different device, possibly using ASIO you might be able to set a different audio device so you don't have to change it each time loading Tracktion.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
"I believe you'd have the same issue with any other application while it is open (i.e. media player, skype, etc.)."
Correct. This is causing the main problem: i cant activate media player, skype etc after running Tracktion.
"Set your audio device prior to evoking the application."
Hmmm... i'm not sure i understand what you mean. can you explain ?
after i run Tracktion i cant set the Audio device any more to any other program. i cant event switch manually.

That's sort of what I meant. Prior to loading media player or tracktion, set the audio device(s) to be default, if you want to use the default within Tracktion. If you have multiple and use a different one within Tracktion, then you can set/choose within Tracktion. In my case, I normally use a USB audio type device, and not the computer's speaker.

Hi Peter.
The good news is that the problem was solved.
The bad news is that i have no clue what i did to solve it
1. I rebooted
2. Set the EMU audio device to default
3. opened Media player and played something
4. Opened PatchMix which is the AudioMixer for Emu Device
5. From this point magically everything worked and the device was not captured by the Emu mixer or Tracktion.
i rebooted again and tried to do other sequence. it worked to.
I'm confused but as long as it works...
Something that i found out is that the problem was NOT connected to Tracktion but to the Audio Device PatchMix.

Windows, drivers, direct sound... They can be really frustrating at times ! Good (??) news in getting it all sorted out.
