Ah, the only thing I don't own is Filterscape, or I would have gotten the gift, oh well :)

Anyway, I'm happy to pay 69 bucks as this is an absolute dream come true emulation, the Pro-One is basically the ONLY hardware synth I've drooled for over the years, being an in-the-box guy who nonetheless loves retro synths. My favorite band ever and greatest musical influence, Skinny Puppy, have said they used a Pro-One on practically every album/song all through the main part of their career, and that it was an essential part of their sound, fwiw. So I'm psyched to get to play with my own Pro-One, albeit in software form :)

thanks Urs and team!

is it me or Filter envelope Decay doesnt do anything?

Is this CPU optimized yet? Here it seems to consume more than double the CPU compared to The Legend at same-ish settings (a single sawtooth, nothing else). And it doesn't go to 0% CPU when idle.

I wouldn't really know what to do with a mono synth, but it sounds good and even looks good and old-skool, the total opposite of Hive, well done :)
The effects are an interesting addition. The Jaws thingy seems to consume quite some CPU, the synth as such much less so than months ago :tu:

Works here... The envelopes remind me of Dune's, also really make more of a difference beyond 12 o'clock.
Make sure you have an env amount dialed in in the filter section.

It's compiled with highest optimisation level but its by far most demanding module (the filter) is not yet written in SSE assembly. This might make it much faster (the mode from the Alpha version was twice as fast when I did that). There are some further tweaks I'm gonna try, but nothing that alters sound quality.

The Jaws module is very demanding on CPU but we couldn't go any lower in quality unless aliasing becomes unbearable. It is a whopping 32x oversampled at44.1/48kHz.

Oh..that's OK. Seems The Legend is a marvel of software coding then. I hope you can optimize this one further too. Here RePro is sounding great and working fine :tu:

Strange, on my AMD computer the Repro-1 seems more efficient than Legend already. I don't even have to switch into the highest performance mode in Windows.

Hehehe, the Pro-One is a lot more complex than a Minimoog, and its filter works very differently. If the Minimoog had 12 octaves audio rate modulation, its virtual clones would certainly use more CPU as well ;-)

It should work, certainly - I've spent all day on it and haven't noticed anything odd.

Do you have a patch or screenshot?

Will the always-on concept become the new standard, like 0df filters have over the past few years? Legend does the same thing if I remember the thread correctly.

Here an Intel i7 6700K CPU. RePro consumes way more, just like Urs explains.

I don't even think he compared the two, if I understood his post correctly. After all, he does not know how Legend was programmed, compiled or whatever.

Minimoog vs pro one. A pro one emulation should consume more it's a lot more complex.

Yes, but didn't you say you were comparing a simple one-saw patch? Maybe the init patches?
