From all the emulations (i never heard one of them in real beside on you-tube) i tryed across different devices and OS this belongs to the more interesting for sure for me (together with the Moog Model 15 and the new Arp Odyssei which seems to be build deeply on component modeling as well...and my new favourite the P900 modular).
I like especially the sequencer and FX. When i bypass the FX the synth sounds not as wild as i thought, so they seems to add a lot of the character here.
But like some other U-he synths it feels almost like an organic (i don´t say analog since that means nothing for me) instrument in front of me and it is very playable due to extended features of the original.
The GUI looks fantastic too and is flexible as usual.

Loving Repro-1!
If you go into Tweaks tab and zoom in you can see every PCB trace, switch, trimmer pot, jumper, diode, every u-he chip and every resistor with readable colour coding (I hope all the values are correct!) Even the orientation of the polarised capacitors! I have not checked...are they all the right way around?
I love it! Even folded traces - do they really make a difference? And apparently there are ghosts in the machine but I see pacman in there hunting 'em down
Nice work!

Chips used in Repro-1:
2 pcs u-he 3340 CV-1216
2 pcs u-he 3310 CV-1268-D
1 pc. u-he 3320 CV-1268-D
1 pc. u-he THSDC14 14P V5-007 CV-1268-D
All specially produced for Repro-1? But why do the u-he 3310 and u-he 3320 and u-he THSDC14 chips all have the same code: CV-1268-D printed on them? Hmm intriguing!

Just downloaded the beta, and while installing, the browse button for the data directory didn't work. Had to type the path. Windows 10.

I assume you know the 33xx series chips are the Curtis chips used in the Pro One. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEM_and_S ... nthesizersspunkmuffin wrote:Chips used in Repro-1:

Yes and the Curtis CEM3340 VCO Chips have just been reissued this year. Thank you Doug Curtis RIP for designing them chips all those years ago.
The chips in Repro-1 however are all u-he branded.

Urs, would it be possible to get some updates in to streamline MIDI mapping to a hardware controller? Some ideas:
1. Allow MIDI Learn for Modwheel. This is a nice feature of The Legend's newest update that allowed me to assign the "Mod Sens: Filter" slider of my Roland System 8 to modwheel, as an alternative to using the awful Roland style mod/pitch-trigger contraption. That particular aspect of some Roland controllers is great for pitch bends, but terrible as a modwheel. I know some DAW's and plugins allow you to reassign MIDI controllers, but having this baked into Repro itself would be a smoother/better approach.
2. "Knob Control" Mode for Oscillators A and B. I mentioned this in the pre-beta thread, but right now, if I want to assign a controller to the Oscillator waves, I need 5 available buttons/knobs/faders to do so; one for each waveform's on/off state (2 for osc A, 3 for osc B). As an optional alternative, it would be really cool if there was a preference setting that allowed users to assign a single MIDI CC to each oscillator with the value dictating which combination of waveforms was currently on/off. What do I mean?
Let's pretend I'm using CC 46 for Osc A and CC 64 for Osc B, the following CC values would dictate the oscillator states. So if CC 46 was set to a value of 95, Osc A would be set to a Pulse waveform, if 98 or higher, Saw and Pulse would both be on. If CC 64 was set to 110, Pulse and Triangle would be on. See below for an example:
Like I said, if possible, it would be nice to have as a preference/option so users could assign 1 knob each for the two oscillators, versus needing 5 as in the current implementation. The current implementation would remain as default for anyone who wouldn't benefit from this approach.
3. Allow sorting on the MIDI Table to improve usability. Sometimes I want to Sort by Parameter, sometimes I want to sort by Controller, sometimes by Mode, or even Type. It would make all U-he products with a MIDI Table just a little more user-friendly if we could sort on this screen.

win 7+, eh? well, it still reads winxp, vista etcpp here. (of course it doesn't load in winxpUrs wrote:System Requirements: MacOS X 10.7+, Win 7+, reasonably fast processor.
maybe you want to apply some minor corrections on the product page... (or just make it compatible

I should mention that this is absolutely fantastic. I'll be buying this week (if not tonight). That'll be two new virtual monosynths in the same week for me (The Legend and Repro-1). And I'm not someone who buys a lot of synths (honest)!

Nice to see! If I remember correctly, Audio Unit 3 will bring a multiprocess model: if a plugin crash, it won't crash the whole host process anymore. That will be a very welcome feature in Audio Unit 3.Urs wrote:rockbottom wrote: also have to move to Audio Units V3 - unless we want run into big trouble with whatever Apple releases next.

It's really great. Smooth, responsive, beautiful sounding.
Working on it at 150% it fills my screen (dark gamma is my fave) and though it's quite a simple synth in many ways it's flexibility and subtlety is really nice - and it can get screaming thick and brutish easily. FX are lovely in that 70s/80s Doctor Who kinda vibe, and I *love* the FX, especially the long wet drenchy stuff which is wonderfully vibey. Can feel nicely organic, and the extra modulation options that the extra matrix adds really go some way to extending the possibilities.
It really is a sweet spot monosynth that can really surprise when you work with it.
The lower panel graphics are about 1px out when you flip between the normal and sequencer panels (at least at a large resolution) which did bug me.
Really a great *instrument*...

I used it for the lead in this track. I had struggled with synths for the lead, Repro-1 was the right choice.

Looks like Drench Tone Knob kills reverb in leftmost and rightmost positions completely. I think it's a bug.
Also, OSC2 in LO FREQ mode with KB OFF mode is too fast, but I'm not sure how was it on Pro-1.
That's insane instrument, frankly. Great job.
