Is there a way to route Mod Wheel directly to filter cutoff instead of having the mod wheel determine the depth of LFO modulation? Sorry if there was a previous discussion about this. The thread is moving hella fast D:

Sure, just use the mod matrix to the right of the keyboard, and route mod wheel to filter cutoff.

I agree it's a bit confusing at first, partly because of the way it's laid out, you're not sure whether eg the OSC A FREQ "TO" section is related directly to the knob to the left of it, etc.

All I did was read the manual, and spend a few minutes trying out various routings until I understood how the routing works - and from then on, it's perfectly fine.

As the manual says, you have three sources (The filter envelope, OSC B, and the LFO), and you can switch each to one of two modulation paths.

What this the modulates is determined by the "TO" switches, OSC A freq & PW, B freq & PW, and the filter are mod destinations, and each can be modulated by either of the two paths or set to off.

I'm sure someone will do a simple video demoing this before too long...

Haha! Thanks, didn't see it there :tu:

One seemingly small thing that I already love about the Repro-1 is the little picture of the floppy disk to save patches. On every other u-he synth when I want to save a patch I have to look around for the save button. With Repro-1 you have this instantly recognisable visual cue and I always just jump to it without having to think. I love that. I wish all your other synths had that little picture.

You could also use the built-in MIDI Learn feature. Clicking on the "gear wheel" symbol at the upper right of the GUI opens MIDI Learn. You could then click on the Cutoff knob until the color of the ring around it turns from red to white and then move the Modwheel on the controller. You could close this by clicking on the cross symbol at the upper right (right to the "Preferences" tab).
By double clicking on the learned parameter in the Midi Learn page you could remove/delete the learned parameter.

Found a hidden extra LFO source; clock phase.

I noticed MM1/MM2 source can be set to Phase (on my AKAI VIP, but also from DAWs), which shows up as N/A in the Repro-1 GUI but seems to be the clock phase -> a sawtooth resetting every clock tick if you wiil which is then an extra LFO!

Apologies if this was a secret or something. I find it awesome tho, esp when negatively modulating stuff like cutoff! Keep it

Hehe, I like it, but we were gonna "hide" it. Don't rely on it just yet ;-)

mataya wrote:The synth is great and all, but that JAWS module is what I want to get my hands on...it's crazy...what kind of plugin would you recommend to achieve the same sound. Is tihs a regular waveshaping distortion or what?
It's a wavefolder... something that's usually found in Buchla-style modular systems. I just couldn't resist adding it to Repro.

I'm not sure if there is an effect plug-in that does this. It's kind of multiple-foldback distortion.

We do have plans to make this available as a plug-in, probably within the Uhbik family.
I have been patiently waiting for some years for some software Wavefolders that actually sound decent to appear.

Other than Jaws, the only other one that comes close to Hardware (also a separate plugin) is the Melda MWavefolder or MMultibandWavefolder.

Still waiting for one that I can modulate the folding with an audio rate signal though!! That is a whole world of heavy metal sound design right there....
Softube Modular? They have an extra module from Intellijel that does wave folding. I've not tried audio rate through it, but audio rate in the other modules worked fine from what I remember.
