Yes, in that they are both relatively simple 2-osc monosynths (and in fact, playing with Repro-1 id remind me a lot of my Prodigy, although the resonance behaviour is very different), but the Prodigy is a *way* simpler instrument - it has no noise, no pulse width, and limited modulation options (one LFO you can route to pitch/filter), no sequencer or repeated triggering and so on. It's closer in feature set to the initial Repro-Alpha, in fact.4damind wrote:Btw. are there some similarities between a Pro One and a Moog Prodigy?
The Pro-1 can use the filter envelope as a mod source, and OSC B for audio modulation, and it's mod section is much more flexible.

Today i completely re-install my system after hdd was erased. So software was only for music. I read that CEF can be framework for chromium based browsers but it was not installed with Chrome browser, 100%.Urs wrote:Are you sure this CEF folder is from our installer? And next thing is that CEF folder i found at first when i installed RePro at first time before hdd was erased. I saw date when it was created. I don't have any games or software for developers on my mac. Only soft for music production.

The Prodigy is basically a Minimoog with Osc 3 demoted to LFO, fewer waveforms and a stripped down Mixer. On the plus side it adds Osc Sync.
When you think of the Prodigy as the phat and harsh sounding synth uses by the band named after it, you'd be disappointed when you have a real one in front of you. It sounds much more tame and clean than a Minimoog. The filter is still yummy, but it doesn't get the drive I'd wish for, and of course a max of 2 oscillators instead of 3.
The one utterly big thing it does is Osc Sync. Once in Sync mode, the Pitchwheel exclusively controls the pitch of the Sync slave. It does so on a 6 octave range. It's mental.
We're contemplating to throw a Repro-DG into the game, just because we have all the tech in code, two wonderfully servcied and restored Prodigies in our collection, and a hunch that Repro-1 might still be too steep for some at 99$.

Thanks to explain it a bit.Urs wrote:The Prodigy is basically a Minimoog with Osc 3 demoted to LFO, fewer waveforms and a stripped down Mixer. On the plus side it adds Osc Sync.

For some reason I see with the Pro One also a competitor to the Minimoog.. Ok, there are only 2 oscillators but a dedicated LFO (not to mention the modulation matrix, the step sequencer or the arp).
Some people saying that the Pro One is like "one voice of a Prophet V" so there is of course the question if a Prophet V would be a completely new design from scratch?

this "rumour" is good explained here (and in german for better understanding)4damind wrote: Some people saying that the Pro One is like "one voice of a Prophet V" so there is of course the question if a Prophet V would be a completely new design from scratch?

Indeed, as I've been championing here for some time.Urs wrote:The one utterly big thing it does is Osc Sync. Once in Sync mode, the Pitchwheel exclusively controls the pitch of the Sync slave. It does so on a 6 octave range. It's mental.
There's nothing in software I've seen so far that can come close to the Prodigy's oscillator sync sound. In fact, I'd go so far to say that's probably impossible to replicate in software, or too technically challenging to achieve. It simply cannot be done.
That should be enough to get Urs on the case - hehe!

This is nothing to do with Repro-1.Andrey Marchenko wrote:Folks, someone can check his Mac OS in the same folder, please?Andrey Marchenko wrote:After installation i found CEF folder on my MAC in: HDD/Users/Username/Library/Application Support... Why so?
I have it, but it's nothing to do with Repro, nor is anything related to it in the Repro installer Mac package. It didn't come from the Repro install.

I have this CEF folder too, but it was created on August 13, so, nothing to do with Repro.

KK. So now i just need to realize from what this thingwaltercruz wrote:I have this CEF folder too, but it was created on August 13, so, nothing to do with Repro.
Still playing with RePro. Great synth but Tweaks panel a little bit cluttered imho... Option with simple view skin (main GUI style) will be very good

I am sure others have mentioned it in the thread, just perchance if they haven't, seems like pattern A and B are now called pattern 1 and 2, manual refers to pattern A and B, and the gui refers to pattern 1 and 2, except the root notes..I imagine you would want to change that from A, B to 1 and 2.

Actually I just want to use the arp, tasmaniandevil wrote:Repeat simply re-triggers the envelopes at the rate set by the clock.simonfloris wrote:I'm trying to use the arp, but it only plays the last note repeatedly (when I activate repeat)
If you want to 'hold' the arp, you can use the 'latch' switch instead.
I'm playing a chord with the initial patch, change the arp to up,and i see the leds in the keyboard bar changing, but that's all.
I only hear a constant pitched -note.
There are no new notes triggered (pitch is not changing and envelopes are not retriggered).
But, what I just realized: when I activate the sequenzer, the arp "is kind of working", the arpeggiated notes are taken into account of the sequence (but "always latched".
Seems, that sequencer and arp are intertwined but not how they should be.

Doesnt answer my question.Urs wrote:The current discount is because of the risk of buying into a beta.AnX wrote:Urs wrote:You don't need to do anything. Hmmm... any chance of getting it optimised while its still cheap? Dont want to risk leaving it, only to find its been optimised very little....

It was a last-minute-rename.
