If all goes well my dev team will do a feline synth emulation after this, and it'll feature a duophonic mode.

I actually own one of each, an original Cat, a Cat SRM and a Cat SRM II :clown:

Don't you also own a CATstick?
Feel free to call me Brian.

Yep, that too.

Does that mean that all three variants will be in? Like chip presets in Repro-1? :)

That was the plan. They are very different.

But as I said, only if all goes well. So much stuff to do, so little time. The guys might need to do a lot of other things first.

Interesting!
I wonder how many months one should count to develop a new synth emulation?
I guess by now you have quite some code/modules you can re-use?
I think they already have platform for mono-emus + Urs already did some research. So it would be less than another year.

Urs any answers to this provocative question?
Murderous duck!

Well, all other monosynths I'd like my devs to tackle are considerably easier to model than the Pro-One. The Cat is probably the next difficult one, with the Prodigy and the Wasp at the bottom of the scale and the OB-1 and the Korg 700 series somewhere in the middle. Those are the ones on my radar and of which I have at least one specimen. I'd expect each to be done in less than half a year. Oh yes, the Polivoks is yet another candidate, but it's utterly difficult.

I won't take wishes/suggestions btw. as these are going to be projects taken by the devs preference and based on what we got. I won't buy more synths unless I can sell some off - which I can only after they're modelled!

However, there are loads of other things on our plate, but whenever a developer/intern/student sits idle for a week, he can work on a module of any of these synths. I hope we can do some of them over time.

Myself, I'm gonna work on other things. I'll just throw the filters at them and maybe an effect or two 8)

Also - I just implemented a "CPU saver" mode for Repro-1 which cuts consumption down to about 25% of what it is now (50% by optimisation, 50% by CPU saver), without much of an audible impact. I think it actually sounds a lot like Diva's Divine mode.

Furthermore there'll be a zzZ option that lets Repro-1 go into a sleepy mode when there's no sound. This hopefully cuts CPU down by another 80% when idle, but it isn't implemented in all modules yet. There's still some processing in the background then, in order to keep things analogue. It is however done with a very noisy draft mode that one thankfully doesn't need to listen to. It's a nifty way of doing this IMHO.

So all in all I think it's looking good for some substantial CPU savings. It was the biggest point of criticism, even above lack of polyphony, so I think it's going quite well with this project.
