Repro-1 vs Diva

Repro-1 is really cool. I like the simplicity of the layout, and the sequencer is really useful.

Other than that, shouldn't any of the Pro-1 sounds be possible in Diva?

No. The filter is completely different from what's available in Diva, the modulation ranges and possibilities are different.

It's simple: it's different enough that it warranted being a separate product instead of being an update of Diva.

Ok. Yeah, I'm not arguing that they should have given this out for free or anything. Just (as a newbie) wondering what to listen for.

It's not easy to explain in words the sound difference (at least for me). The more you get into synths, the more you are going to hear subtle differences in synths that might sound pretty similar to people that are less synth crazy (crazy in a good way). If you already own Diva (which is polyphonic and Repro 1 is not), and can't hear anything worth paying money for with Repro 1, you might as well just keep using the demo version of Repro 1 for free........until you start hearing sounds in Repro 1 that you're not hearing in Diva.....and then you get tired of hearing demo (in the future) sounds that won't go away unless you pay for the software.......and then you are hooked!

I was in the same boat. There is subtle differences when creating similar patches, but possible to get quite close. What sold me on repro however was the jaws fx. I may learn to appreciate the differences more as I mess around with it more.
