Also, we might have a new beta/release candidate next week with a few hundred presets.

Thank you very much for the detailed information and the example files.
I can reproduce it in different hosts, too.
Seems to be something going on with Jaws when starting host playback.
Adding it to our bug-tracking list now.

Sounds tasty!

Edit: Will the next beta consume less CPU?

Nice! Development seems to be going well. Huge Cpu savings, presets coming in, not too many bug reports.

Any decision yet whether we will be able to use repro as an effect (Fx version)?

Post

If we do an FX version it won't be before next year. There was so much feedback, I hardly got to put much thought into this, I had to concentrate on CPU savings.

CPU savings will be around 35% on average, and up to 60% or so on expensive patches. With the "CPU saver" mode it'll be another 40% off, and most patches will sound just fine in that mode.

The next beta will have these improvements, but we might continue this work later on.

Wow, i have tried it and just Wow.

It sounds so real, so in "your face" that it is just a great pleasure. It is the first time i buy a synth software ( first time i have money for that :p ), and put that money in a great compagny like U-he is so cool !

I already tried Diva, and i find that repro-1is one step above, it sounds so much warm and authentic ( Althought Diva is already amazing ). Will you use all the new Things you learn in Repro-1 dev to improve Diva modules to sound as warm as repro is ?

I have just one idea to make it more than already perfect : Hardware synth are great because there are small hum and noise in the backround that feel the air of the mix. As you did it in satin, is it technically possible to modelise such type of noise due to components themself ?

keep it up ! you're amazing !

I love the sound.. but man it's a major CPU hog, what can be done to bring that down?
I'm running it on Windows 10 16Gb Ram 1Tb memory @ 7200
and if there is a way to get it down, how much of the sound quality will be lost..
I do love the way it looks and sounds..
If the CPU doesn't bite me, today when I get home I want to see if I can get some presets made. I'm about to finish a set for another software. again love the sound, that's why I would like to get some presets done..

We have left out the 50/60Hz humm from the rectifier/power adapter, which is very prominent in early Pro-Ones that did not get the power adapter moved from the main board to the back panel. It's kind of noisy and boring.

Nevertheless, we've measured the noise level/spectrum at a dozen or so junctions on the circuit board, wherever it has an effect on the sound, either by injecting itself into the audio path or by adding to control signals. So we added a few sources of red and white noise, filtered them accordingly and hooked them into these places.

Hi Urs,
some days ago I read an article about the Oberheim OB1 synth.
It looks beautiful and it sounds beautiful.
It would be a good a good counterpart to your Repro-1.
Maybe a candidate for a new Repro-X in the future?
Here is the article with some sound examples:

Hi Urs,
wow, that are great news!
Hoping for the Repro of OB1 in the next years!

Meanwhile I have much fun with programming presets for Repro-1. :-)

If you like it you can take it for the factory library.
