Going through some patches posted in the other thread, I noticed that RePro preset browser doesn't like periods (.) in patch names. For example preset called "D.A.F. Bass Noise" only shows as "D". When pressing down cursor key to get to the next patch, it jumps to the first preset in folder instead. This seems to be the case with all patches containing . in them.

After some further investigating it only seems to happen with VST3 version in both Cubase and Reaper. Windows 10, 64 bit. Standard dots
VST2 works as expected.

Yeah, the mighty dot. That's a known issue with the VST3 version.gravehill wrote:After some further investigating it only seems to happen with VST3 version in both Cubase and Reaper. Windows 10, 64 bit. Standard dots

Must have been from an internal beta tester who got the latest seed...lentferj wrote:Is there a newer version than rev. 5107 already available? I got "Plug-In too old for Preset" for some presets I downloaded.

I hope there is no 'Preset too old for Plug-In' popup when it is released. Now I'm anxious. I need to be reassured that old presets will always sound the same. I can see the problem you have as a developer - it's best to get all the sound & modulation parameters just perfect before release or you end up breaking or altering peoples presets if you ever change things in an update and then you have to deal with people crying in forums about their presets not sounding the same. So will Repro-1 sound the same forever-and-ever-and-ever?

Sure, unless there's a bugfix that affects itspunkmuffin wrote:So will Repro-1 sound the same forever-and-ever-and-ever?
We have developed a method that, even if we change parameters over time, old presets will still load fine in new versions of the plug-in. At this point of time we mostly change parameter names, but maybe also a few ranges.
However, old plug-ins don't know about those changes hence they can't magically interpret parameters correctly in a preset made with a much newer version. Hence the warning.
Therefore, if one updates the software, old presets are fine. OTOH if one doesn't update the software (e.g. people who "test" the beta forever, tsts), they can't expect the latest presets to work.

It might be a good idea to give the different filter models a dedicated knob on the GUI instead of (just) hiding it on the circuit board.
That way it's more accessible and easier to play with.
Will it be possible to change the model on the fly? If you could automate it, it would be even better.

If we put every knob possible on the front, it won't look and feel like the original anymore.Stefken wrote:It might be a good idea to give the different filter models a dedicated knob on the GUI instead of (just) hiding it on the circuit board.

It's really just tiny nuances in sound. And whether the filter is calibrated to fully close or not.
In other words, Repro-1 is not just one model of a specific hardware synth, it's many models. But it's not an important enough feature to plaster it all over the main UI.
