At least my bank balance is happy with the sales so far. absolutely nothing on my list yet (although I considered upgrading Studio One to Pro 3 but then I thought, really??? Do I even want it, never mind need it???) My modular synth seems to have at least calmed my GAS for new software.

Agreed! But it's not even Black Friday yet so I'm sure it'll be all on soon. Only Eventide's Omnipressor is blipping my GAS radar right now - ok maybe D16's Lush is too...
Can't believe I just said blipping my GAS radar.

Haha. Blip!
I've had GAS for years now. Seems it's not lethal. Had it since 97 at least.
Yeah, I probably should have waited until Friday to see what the entire bundle price is.
I may still grab it then if it is a great price. Or just the 550a/b. But honestly I have the Kush transformer N and A and really think they give me the API sound already in combination with all the other EQs I already have. So I'm not thinking the API EQs are necessary. The 2500 buss compressor is very very good though. Worth $40.
And I agree. I'm not spending any more until Friday. They've got to really have deep discounts to get me if they want me. And that goes for all the companies out there. I've waited since 2009 for most of this stuff. Even longer for some. I can wait as long as it takes for companies to finally price their stuff realistically.
For instance I've been wanting Omnisphere something fierce for like 6+ years now. Might be more. I still haven't bought it. Love the guy behind it. He's an awesome guy. So far though I've only bought Trilian because Omnisphere and Stylus RMX are just so high priced. They really should consider competing. I'd have bought already if they offered 50% off sales at least once a year like during Black Friday. I'll keep waiting and waiting I guess.
I waited that long too for Sylenth. Finally got it for $100 this last year. 'Bout time Lennard Digital. Jeesh.
I look every year at Nexus for like 10+ years now I think. Every year at the xmas sale I almost buy, but then don't. Even though I really like their sounds. If they'd offer larger discounts on a better bundle I'd likely buy. But they only do their basic bundle or the everything one. They could do so much more if they'd offer other packages in the middle...

JRR's site is highly confusing and directly missleading ,.. the eglible plugs for upgrade is not even ajourRational wrote:Is the current $49 ($43-$44 at other re-sellers) price on the Waves API 2500 about the lowest its ever been? Anyone know?
And I still haven't received my Anthology X upgrade license (for owners of 3 products) from JRRshop yet. But that link someone posted earlier says I only qualify for the 2 products upgrade license.
http://weber.eventide.com/webservices/A ... rview.html
It says my Quadravox and Ultrachannel count but not my free Roomverb 2016 it seems?
So I bought Blackhole and we'll see if that has any effect once I get that registered. I was going to buy it anyway.
If not, I may have to still buy a copy of the PTA (Precision Time Align) plugin as that is the cheapest one available ($24) it seems that is part of Anthology X. Hope not as I though I was good to go based on their response to me earlier. I'd not heard of the link above until today. We'll see...
All is based on what plugs you have that is INCLUDED in the bundle already, but this info was also missing
Blackhole does not count, as its not part of the bundle, I can confirm that, becourse I got it already, and like expected it didnt count in the ordering procces, I believe like someone said that the miss-leading info has coursed you to order the wrong upgrade
Hopefully JRR will cover the loss, and sort out without to much additional troubles and waste of time
To me it was the oposite scenario, I was close to get the 2-plug upgrade, despite I qualified for 3, adding 100 $ more, simply becourse the list was wrong, and H910 was not present, despite being part of the bundle
Hope you get things sorted out

I'm not too bent out of shape about this particular deal as I got PTA for about the same amount as the in cart discount I got on the deal itself at JRR. (And I didn't buy PTA from JRR
But I agree, JRR and all the other resellers need to put more effort into the details they post on their sales pages. Absolute clarity needs to be striven for by them as a self responsibility of selling. They could also do a better job of adding ending dates and times as well. It's silly how many times I have to email these resellers "How long is X on sale for?"
I've even emailed clarifications to JRR in the past that I had to obtain myself direct from the plugin vendor. Then they NEVER updated their page. They didn't bother. Not cool. I like Uncle E and so far I've always eventually been taken care of. They can be slow at times. Which is why I've started shopping elsewhere recently. Faster turn around and better prices. Gotta love the free market! So I'm not too upset. But I can see how they do need to all do a better job of taking care of the customer.
Now let me share an instance where I am upset.
Case in point, I finally received my replacement hard drive back from NI for my K9U. It took two months. Lots of me asking and finally reminding them that they already promised to replace it under warranty. They were trying to get out of it. Even saying I'd need to pay $120 for the replacement drive. They weren't being proactive themselves. Several times not answering for multiple 5 day + stretches. Then they refused to ship to me directly. I had to pay a reshipper to get it sent back. It's sad to see the heavyweights in this niche know they don't have to delight their customers because they are already so far ahead of most others in this particular market segment.
I was always planning on upgrading to K11U eventually, but on my own time schedule. I didn't appreciate them trying to force me into upgrading by putting up a false "we don't offer download links for K9U anymore" because that's such an 'old version'. Heck it's only 2 years ago I got it! And you guys sent me the crap quality HD that caused my problem to begin with! Come on NI. Be the leader you are and always offer download links to those of us who pay and pay such large amounts. We don't want to be hassled when we occasionally come to you in need of actual support. Jeesh.
I'd not have pushed for them to send me the replacement HD if they'd offered me the download links so I could reinstall easily. But no. They wanted to charge me $120 to send me a new HD. Come on! Cheezy. You've left a bad taste in my mouth when there didn't need to be one NI. I already liked you and your products. Now I know spending my money with you really doesn't get me any customer appreciation or support. It just get's me good products that I like. It's kind of a cold transaction/relationship after that. Needn't have been that way.
But anyway. Rant over on NI. Surprisingly I actually plan to upgrade here this month if they offer a deep enough discount. We'll see...
I will say though that had they not honored their word to replace the HD I'd not be saying that. So for now they've done just enough to keep me from cutting them off for being difficult and unappreciative. Still not going to pay crazy high prices though for upgrades.
But HM, thank you for being so cool to provide the clarifications these companies should be doing on their own. That itself is insightful into how this particular industry is still a bit immature. But thank you for being mature for them. I appreciate it.

I find this to be true for many products/companies, if your company goes years without a special sale you are losing money for sure, either to the competition or pirated software, I personally do not take the pirated route on any of my machines, it's just wrong and stupid dangerous. Whoever is in charge of marketing at some of these companies are clueless to reality... not matter how good your product is there is a price limit some people will not/cannot pass, they also forget that their best salesmen are satisfied customers.Rational wrote:... Guess i go for the Studio One Pro update from S1 2 Producer. Really hard to pass on that for the price.
Will be my first full blown DAW then, after using some "crippled" versions for years now. And i always liked S1 really.

Good decision, that price is really to good to let it pass.
What's even more awesome is the "buy one studio monitor, get one for free" offer by PreSonus... that is something you normally only see with software
I'm very happy with my Neumann KH120s, otherwise I would consider it.
Altough, that offer will probably not be valid in Europe, I guess...

I'm with you on that OB-XKeys. Completely.
Yeah, that sure is a great deal. That's why i bought two pairs!
The Presonus Eris 66 have been on my want list for a year now. E65s weren't because they made the mistake of trying to market them with ugly (in my opinion) blue bezels. Sadly I'm shallow.
It was enough of a turnoff not being black that I wasn't going to force myself to look at them all day while mixing no matter how awesome the ribbon tweets were. Well... turns out they come with black bezels in the box. But their marketing didn't make that clear! I had to find that out via watching old Namm videos, etc. I'll bet they lost more sales going with the blue bezels than they would have going with traditional black. In fact, considering the great price and how awesome ribbon tweeters can be, I'd be willing to bet they'd have had a best seller had they gone with black from the get go.
But I'm guessing they're trying to decide if they want to keep those two lines running or not and are going to blow out the first year stock right now and see if they can establish some market penetration with them. Even if they sell them out at cost by doing this in the short term. I actually think people will love their MTM series if they'd only buy them. Considering how many people I've heard love the regular Eris 6 and 8's flat response and great mix results. And even more so how many people absolutely rave about the Sceptre series. We'll see... But I'd grab them now while they're still available considering the value. And I'd imagine the sale applies worldwide on the pair. Just shipping and tariffs could be the limiting factor.
And Novalis, do the Neumanns titanium dome tweet sound at all harsh to you? I've never been able to not get ear fatigue with the harder materials used in tweeters. I always had to go with a soft dome tweet. And I won't ever buy a monitor with a horn tweet. Those always sound completely brittle to me. They might be great for live use at loud volumes but in the studio I prefer the softer materials. And I'm guessing the ribbons are going to be a whole new level of cush for my ears yet actually increase the detail.

For anybody who had been holding out or on the fence about the "Air Music AIEP3 Complete/Select Upgrade Sale" that ends on Dec. 1 this is the only difference between the two packages.
$64.00 - AIR Instrument Expansion Pack 3 SELECT UPGRADE
http://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1 ... T-UPGRADE-
NOT Included:
Xpandi2
6 Hybrid Expansion Packs
Creative FX Collection
$74.95 - AIR Instrument Expansion Pack 3 COMPLETE UPGRADE
http://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1 ... E-UPGRADE-
Everything Included
Other than that they are exactly the same. I got a feeling the sale will be extended to Christmas... but you never know and at that price they are practically giving them away. If you already have Komplete 11 Ultimate and/or Spectrasonics Omnisphere this may not interest you but... if you are just starting out or are low on cash this package deal gives you practically all the tools you will need to create some serious music (minus a DAW, Keyboard etc...) for very little money. For my money, "Vacuum Pro" alone makes this deal worth it.

I bit the bullet on the AIEP3 pack a month ago. It really is a great buy - no filler at all. I'd say it fits the category of No Brainer. I've just done a track exclusively with the instruments supplied, and I never felt like I was compromising at any time.
