Agreed... conversation does at least need to be a two ways street (and on a forum, hopefully more involved).

Having looked over most of the Masterclass series, I think the most bang for buck, is the James Patterson course. I could be wrong, but it does seem the strongest course so far. Maybe this is great editing, or maybe he's a great salesman, but from the teaser, it really does look like he intends to help aspiring writers.

I also like the Gordon Ramsay course... I don't know that I would take it, but I do find his approach to the series very refreshing as he doesn't pretend to cover it all in one tutorial series, but he does intend to cover how to make something specific.

I do find it odd that the two music courses are both by individuals that are not schooled but have had a wealth of success in their field. Still, to me the Deadmaus and Hans Zimmer courses both seem more like they are sharing their approach and less like a "how to compose," course.

I am honestly curious about both (music) courses but I do not have expectations for either one. Again, I think the James Patterson course will probably be the most rewarding. With that said, I'm still hoping there's something to pick up, even seeing someone else's workflow approach is very nice (for me personally).

Its just unfortunate you are arguing based on wild assumptions.
The Berklee reference is too glib and assumes too much of the reader's interest in what I'd written up to then, so I repudiate that move. It's fair to see apples vs oranges with that bit.

The presentation struck me as geared towards a certain crowd I'm too familiar with and that's dissonant to me with Master Class. I had an allergic reaction. Albeit tempered with more info on MasterClass.com, I would likely still laugh at the promo video.
