FreqAnalyst Multi Problem

I cannot seem to change the curve names from unnamed to something else. Actually, I see the same problem with all three analyzer plug-ins. I have tried double clicking on the names in the routing panel, which I assume is the intended way to do it, and everything else I could think of - no results.

I am running the VST 3 version under Cubase. I am also running the VST 2 version of Remote Control under Cubase. For that, I double click on the control name and get an edit box in which the new name can be typed, as expected. But on the three analysis plug-ins, I get no response.

Any recommendations?

Probably should have added: this is on Win 7, 64-bit and Cubase and plug-ins all 64-bit.

I am going to uninstall the VST-3 and install VST-2 to see if that makes a difference. Stay tuned.

Further information:

Swapping out the VST-3 for the VST-2 had no effect in Cubase 8.0. Double clicking on the name field does not produce an edit box.

However, those same VST-2 plug-ins work as expected under Patchwork and also work under SONAR X2 (the most recent SONAR version I have on hand).

Hi,

This is definitely unexpected. However I remember Cubase sometimes doing strange things with the z-order of the plug-in window, so maybe they have broken it once again in 8.5. Have you try to activate and/or deactivate the "always on top" setting of the plug-in window in Cubase?

Post

I am using it in Cubase 8.0. I have 8.5 and will test it there and let you know. I will also try the always-on-top setting as requested.

More info:

Testing Freq Analyst Multi (only) ...

In Cubase 8.0 disabling Always on Top has no effect one way or the other.

In Cubase 8.5 disabling AoT has a strange effect. For the first instance of the plug-in, the problem persists. However, occasionally when I double-click, it the edit box seems to appear for just a split second and then immediately goes away. Most of the time nothing appears to happen. Either way, I cannot change the name.

For subsequent instances, the double click produces an edit box and I can enter a name for the row.

We'll have to double check if anything was changed in Cubase that impacts focus (that's definitely a focus or z-order issue). It's a single click to get the edit window btw (a double click will make it disappear instantly).
