Yes i see that in Live too. That's probably what confuses Live. Working on a solution. Thx.

Awesome, thanks. So it's very similar to the Reaper model then where you pay at major releases. With Reaper it's full price at every other major release.

Not a main Logic user, but doesn't it primarily use AU and not VST (which is Steinberg's competitor format)?
Hence the AU question...
Will definitely keep an eye on the Mac development side... I'm more than happy on Windows... except for two main things (you already know for years): 1) the ability to create feedback loops (haven't tried in a while if that's possible now) and 2) individual mono inputs/outputs rather than stereo ports (for mono plugins and/or other modular tools)...

Logic 9mutools wrote:Which DAW are you using?
No, just AU's.Doesn't it support VSTs?
No.Don't you already have a VST wrapper?
Really don't know, but if they aren't free, I can think about one.Are there disadvantages of using such wrapper?
Never heard about it before.Do you have experience with the Symbiosis VST-AU wrapper?
Plenty of Mac audio users are using Logic, that's why I'm asking, seems like logical move to cater to them also.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Ok, i understand the need for an AU version. Can't yet say when MUX Modular AU will be available. I'll first focus on finalizing MUX Modular VST for Mac. And maybe i'll first continue on something else, MuLab related. It depends on how much work an AU version would take. I'll soon research how much work it is.

There are new MUX Modular 7.2.11 VST packages in http://www.mutools.com/galaxa/
What's new: Better separation between the VST effect and synth version as that seems to be necessary for certain hosts.
How to install: The new M7.2.11 zip packages contain the DLL only so make sure you already have installed the complete M7.2.10 package, then replace the relevant files by the new ones in the M7.2.11 zip packages.
paradiddle, does this new MUX Modular 7.2.11 VST work fine in all your DAWs?

Yes now ableton live 9.7 is able to disguise between both plugins. However I noticed when I grab the mux window, I can't play with the computer keyboard anymore (In ableton you can use the computer keyboard to trigger synths if you want). I've tried other vstis and no prob doing that. Mux seems to grab the keyboard input.
Stuck in Aperture Laboratories for a 2nd time!

Thanks for confirmation, good to hear it works fine now.paradiddle wrote:Yes now ableton live 9.7 is able to disguise between both plugins.
The MUX editors use keyboard input indeed, for example if you want to rename modules or to tweak knobs, sliders, or for function shortcuts etc. If you want keyboard input to go to the host, make sure the host window is focused. However I noticed when I grab the mux window, I can't play with the computer keyboard anymore (In ableton you can use the computer keyboard to trigger synths if you want). Edit: I'll have a look at what happens with keyboard input that is unused by MUX, so it could travel on to the host.

Fun fact, on OS X among relevant choices (Pro Tools, Reason and MuLab doesn't count), only Cubase/Nuendo, Bitwig and energyXT doesn't support AU's, but Logic supports only AU's, so it's like one DAW left out with VST only version vs. few bigger ones for AU only, but on Mac platform so many more folks use Logic overall, in majority of cases plenty of those DAW's are better Windows performers too, so more people do use them on that platform too. So getting AU only done should cover more people than it seems on the first look I guess.mutools wrote:Ok, i understand the need for an AU version. Yeah, it would be good to have that sorted out ASAP, AU's on OS X are bigger deal than VST's, considering just few host's doesn't run them opposed to most used one and the rest of the popular gang. (judging by popularity contest;courtesy of musicradar). And maybe i'll first continue on something else, MuLab related. It depends on how much work an AU version would take. Queue the "boo-hoo's" of the ProTools users wanting AAX as well.Zexila wrote:..., so it's like one DAW left out with VST only version vs. few bigger ones for AU only, but on Mac platform so many more folks use Logic overall, in majority of cases plenty of those DAW's are better Windows performers too, so more people do use them on that platform too. "ProTools is an industry standard, Y U NO?!"
...
There are wrappers for Logic to load VST (Mac based), but they're mostly commercial products (like FXPansions VSTtoAU wrapper). Though there seems to be a freebie called "JVSTwRapper" - but I'm not on Mac, so I can't comment any further.
