I've got the bug for reading via tablet - so I've moved all my print subs over to that. Comp Music, Future Music, Electronic Musician and MusicTech via Zinio (all circa £16/$20 each), keyboard mag direct ($12 for the sub plus $1 each for a heap of back issues).Numanoid wrote:A bad year for CM magware: This month and every month it seems what they got to offer is: A cut down EQ plug
What do they got next month, oh yes, a cut down EQ plug![]()
Don't think about suprising us readers CM.
Acustica Audio Pink CM, I can hardly wait to get that one
Not complaining about the free plugins though as across the course of a year there have been some belters even in "lite" guise (PSP Delay CM and BazilleCM spring to mind) - looking forward to seeing how useful Pink CM is next month given it presumably still uses the CORE8 Acqua engine.

I still like CM's samples though. I've built up a huge collection of beats over the years. Good stuff in almost every genre.
I just wish they offered them in REX format.
cheers

It looks like you can create your own mix of sounds also. I probably have no use for it whatsoever. But it is cool....![]()

It's less than $11. You know, it's probably right up my street. I spend a few hours every sunday making pointless droney noise, but, there's only so much one can do with Kontakt and listening to the demos I'm not really all that impressed. Yeah, it's only $11, but, it's basically, AFAIK, just crossfading between some droney samples. I can do that fairly easily now and I have terabytes of samples to choose from.

Yeah, there are 1340 bonus ambient samples included with this issue, and the samples make up for the rather lackluster plugs.

I agree, but, free/cheap samples come my way so much faster than I can use them. LoopMasters had a free pack this month, the Cassetto group buy has dropped some gigs on my sample drive. My recent purchase of Iris 2 gave me a new multi-gigabyte collection. It's rare that there are specific samples that speak to me in a way that I must have them, clear sung vocal samples, for example. That's not to say that I don't like the ambient samples or the nth version of techno/house loops. I just have so much of that stuff that if I don't want to use it right now, it probably won't get used.

It was 19.99 GBP/year (around $2 per issue) on Pocketmags this Cyber Monday as I already told you at that time. Grabbed it instantly!ghettosynth wrote:Fleer wrote:There's a sale every few months, often at 40% off, but sometimes more. Yeah, I'd pay that too if I saw it. It's worth it to have the samples and videos which are often either useful in some way, or at least entertaining.

Puremagnetik's sale of "30% off everything" apparently doesn't include Spark. Everything my ass!
Tangled roots perplex her ways.

I agree 100%. I own every drum vst out there, and I recently cleaned out most of Loop Loft's inventory, but still, every once in a while, I get a 2 bar freebie beat that I just can't help constructing an entire composition around. Go figure.ghettosynth wrote:BERFAB wrote:I still like CM's samples though. I've built up a huge collection of beats over the years. Good stuff in almost every genre.

BTW, if you're into vocals, you'd really enjoy the Heavyocity Vocalise instrument. I just picked this up on a deep black Friday discount, and I've been playing with it ever since. Tons of useful (to me, anyway) vocal samples and playable pads. Picked up their Cinematic Guitar instrument as well and have been mucking around with that as well.
Cheers

That's almost three times as much as 7.27. I know that it's not much, but we have to make choices.

It was $23. I'm not waiting months to save pennies so I don't agree on this. The price is fair to me.ghettosynth wrote:nickamandote wrote:It was 19.99 GBP/year (around $2 per issue) on Pocketmags this Cyber Monday as I already told you at that time.
