Understood...

But because the browser & menu seem quite similar in the way you can adjust the back & forground colours, I just wondered why there was no size parameter in the preferences section, like there is for "menu font size".

Post

IIRC in an earlier thread we found that using the larger font size of the 'smart' context menus (vs docked browser) was another approach.

The "Menu font size" preference is a legacy preference and it indeed is inconsistent and from pure technical pov it should be removed. But as i assumed that removing it would not be appreciated by some users, i left it in for now. Hope that clarifies it.

Interesting stuff, and thank you for keeping that size preference for sure! It sounds like maybe you didn't "overhaul" the font system, just tweaked it.

So is this what you are saying: when this whole UI system gets reworked we will have considerable options to tweak all font sizes? Throughout the entire app?

Perhaps even font styles? Man, that would be cool - but the font that is used now is really nice and clear, so adjusting the size would be enough.

It's rather about rescaling the UI.

Dear Jo, another question: something I also find a little strange is in the mudrum if I load sample into a sampler on one of the pads, and the sampler is set to loop (forward/backward/alternating) there's continuous playback of this loop as soon I preview the sample by clicking the pad (even if I switch it back to 'no loop' or if I close the mudrum window) does anyone else experience this?

Also : sometimes when I changed the buffer size by manually typing a value (it was usually 1024 I think) and press enter to confirm or click 'ok' it freezes, none of the buttons or windows respond anymore

That's because by default a drum pad is set to infinte release so that samples are played to full length. But if you combine that with a loop the sample keeps playing. Solution: Lower the release or set it to no loop. If you already have a hanging note, right-click the main play button at the top -> Panic.

Mac or Windows? Which audio device do you use? What driver type?

Thanks for explaining in detail, just in case anything hangs I already made a shortcut for the panic button
I was also looking for a choke/mute group function, but googling it brought me back to KVR where you said there isn't a module for that yet..

And sorry I should've mentioned that. I'm on a macbook pro 2010-11 with El Capitan and it's happened when using the built-in CoreAudio, but most of the time I use a Focurite Saffire pro 14 with the latest version 4.1.4 of its designated driver. It happens on both, so maybe it has to do more with my computer itself?

Where are you typing in that buffersize?

Does Mulab not like iZotope plugins? Two of three are disabled. Today I wanted to try the new Elements version of Ozone, and I got this message:
Couldn't find main VST function in iZOzone7Elments.dll
Couldn't create VST instance for iZOzone7Elements

In Mixcraft it works...

Run mulab as administrator then Rescan plugins

Post

Could it be that you're trying to plug in a VST3 into MuLab?

Preferences > change block size > edit

Then there's a small popup window with the current value you can change by dialing in the value with the mousewheel or double click it to enter a value. Bu dialing isn't the fastest way to jump from 256 to 1024 for example so I just typed 1024 and hit the enter button.
