Q-Clone can be gotten from everyplugin for $25ish. Anyone use it? Thoughts?

I've always wanted to try it. For years now. I always thought it potentially could do everything anyone would want to do to sounds eq wise. Perhaps even eliminating having to buy different plugins, EQs, mics, etc. all the time. IF it's as detailed as I hoped sound wise.

Thanks for the heads up. I may finally grab it.

Anybody like Thesys?

I remember when this came out! I thought only like 3 years ago. Turns out it was like 6 years ago now...

Debating buying it. I like midi gate plugins. But remember not really being impressed at the time it was released.

Not sure if this has been mentioned here but the KVR Developer Challenge for 2016 has started and you can download a lot of very cool plug-ins / apps for FREE and you can even win prizes for just voting, really good sponsor prizes.

https://www.kvraudio.com/kvr-developer-challenge/2016/

Some of the plug-ins I like already are:
-----------------------------------------------
SoftAmp PSA - virtual-analog guitar pre-amp (not bad, worth a listen if your into amp sims)
Malefica - virtual high-gain distortion guitar pedal (yes please, thank you very much)
Youlean Loudness Meter - international standards compliance
Marie Ork - real-time singing synthesizer (female death-metal singer sampled)
Lagrange - unique stereo delay (this is amazing to play with)

That's all I have tried so far.

It's legit, I've just gone for it and it emails a special link and code for Impact Soundworks site and I'm starting to download now. I'm not big on orchestral stuff but I've had an eye on the Slavic Choir for a while (being a big fan of Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares). Listening to the demos the rest of the stuff sounds very good, I'm sure the percussion will get used at some point. An excellent deal! Thanks for bringing it to my attention :)

Cool. Good to hear Alstralp. I like Impact Soundworks. Andrew has been a high quality guy forever now producing his Zircon stuff and now IS. Glad to hear this site is selling them for a great price. I may jump on too. I like their stuff.

It's too bad I didn't buy Juggernaut and Celestia last week. I didn't realize what I was missing. I hope he offers them again this holiday season one more time.

And while I've got your ear Alstrap, can you explain the Cassetto bootlegs your creating now? Could you possibly make a youtube video demonstrating what they do and how they sound? I may buy them for the matching other libraries I now own. But want to get a better idea of what they are and how they sound and perform. Thanks.

I should probably let him explain, but I'll give you the one/two sentence customer explanation anyway.

Cassetto is designed for short samples as oscillator waveforms. The bootlegs use samples from hgsounds other products as oscillators instead. Because they are not short, several features were adjusted to make more sense in the context of Cassettto.

Thanks Ghettosynth, very concise :) I've answered in the Cassetto Thread rather than in this thread.

Sorry! Found it via Pro Tools Expert not KVR. I'll double-check next time. :dog:

Yes I like Thesys. I have the plugin and the app. I use it to sequence my analog synth rack. It gives a lot of control. It could use an update but it is solid for me. I bought it second hand on KVR for a good price. It doesn't get daily use but I am happy to have it.

It only emulates curves. It does a very good job of emulating EQ curves but it doesn't attempt to model distortion or anything like that (which something like Nebula does). Each curve is its own preset, so you don't adjust it like a regular EQ. But if you want to copy the characteristic curve of a named EQ and have access to the original or some of the presets floating around on the web, it's a reasonable choice.
