Well, concerning stabilty i have no issues here with the current version in Wondows 10 64-bit and live 9.7 64-bit or Cubase Pro 8.5.20 64-bit.bronxsound wrote:after reading 15 or so pages of complaints, disappointments etc I am wondering what did betatesters doover the testing period...
Also have no problem installing and using the factory content here yet.
I have a long time experience in beta testing and with all due respect a lot of so called bugs are also due to user errors or not doing things like intended. Besides that in a closed beta it is not possible to test all possible computer + host configurations/setups so a fully bug free first version is close to being impossible IMO.
Personally i could not test on a Mac/OSX so i could not find and/or report any OSX specific bugs. While i got several hosts for testing purposes (around 6 at the moment) i could also not test on all those available, especially the more "exotic" ones.
The thing about possible missing features or features not working like people expected they would work is another story and such discussions are found with almost any synth released recently (for example also analog emulations like The Legend or Repro-1) where people could not accept that the developer did choose to include a certain set of features and not more (or implemented in a different way than some users would like to have it).
If you try to judge about Avenger based on what it really is and not what certain people expected it to be it could maybe not do everything (IMO no synth could do that) but it is still very powerful and versatile and sounds great for sure (at least IMO). For sure Avanger does complements very well with tsome of the other synths i used a lot recently and it has certain features not available in other synth in the same way (e.g. the FFT filter).
FWIW concerning custom wavetables i am i the lucky position to own a bunch of wavetable synths including Icarus that i could use for that task and the wavetables created there could be imported into Avanger quite nicely and without bigger problems (if you are used to the process that is involved for this).
