MCompare - how do I compare bypassed/enabled plug early in the chain?

Hi -

I think I'm blizzing on this mentally, but I can't figure out how to set up MCompare to make a comparison I'm trying to do.

Using the example in the vid at 14:13: There is an EQ, a comp, and a limiter, with MCompare preceding and after each plug.

What I'd like to do is monitor the master output, and hear the difference when I enable/bypass the first of the three plugs (the EQ, in this case). Of course simply hitting the EQ bypass isn't what I want to do, because it would not be volume-compensated.

Thank you in advance for the solution!

Simple :

Master : MCompare send 1 -> EQ -> MCompare main -> whatever you need after the EQ ;)

Then you'll just keep clicking the Source 1 button in the MCompare main.

Btw. if you use our EQs it's even more simple - enable AGC on the EQ and then just bypass it normally ;)

Thank you for answering!

What I'd like to hear is a toggle between the full mix, vs. the full mix with the EQ bypassed (where the EQ precedes the comp which precedes the limiter).

Please tell me, won't your sequence instead compare the full mix vs. the mix without EQ, but also without comp and without limiter?

Thank you!

Just bypass the EQ with AGC enabled.

No no! Remember, the limiters and stuff are AFTER the MCompare main ;).

Anyways as jmg8 says, if you are using our EQs, just enable AGC in the EQ, and it's all done ;).

Thank you. Since I can't picture the signal flow  I'll have to set up a project and test. I'm not actually testing EQ> Comp> Limiter, I just used those as an example to match the vid. But the concept remains the same, so I'm excited to test!

BTW, the only EQ I use which is not stock Cubase is MAutoDynamicEQ!

Perfect (of course) - thank you!

I guess I need to use two instances of MCompare to sandwich around every plug I want to evaluate the effect of on the final master output. Or at least leave an empty slot immediately before and after each plug, to drag two instances of MCompare to.

Thanks again!

Yes! There's no other way to "bypass" a plugin with another plugin (unless it can load other plugins, which is not going to happen here really :) ).
