I would say yes but do not forget that the recoding and the used gear is also important not only the aspect to record something on tape and you will reach the desired sound when you use Satin on tracks instead of master-bus or bus. If I get some spare time I will make some presets for you and you can test them with Satin. Satin demo is available at u-he webpage (no hard demo-limitations).

For degradation effects, turn up the 'Tape' options in the Service panel (especially 'Arperity' and 'Wow & Flutter').

The light cracklings are more a vinyl thing. Get Satin for your tape effects and this for vinyl.

Yeah .... recording, used equipment, etc. is very important. Satin "only" gives a very authentic tape emulation.
