So I probably already know the answer: No. But it's worth asking, just in case.
I have Novation's SL MkII which has an XY pad. I never use it, but I'd like to. Short of simply manually midi mapping within Bazille, is there any way to route the XY pad to various destinations within a Bazille patch itself, such that that routing will be saved and recalled each time I load that patch? What about other u-he synths?
Thanks!

If you can stand the pain of doing without half the Multiplex for other stuff, you could feed them with +5V and MIDI-learn those knobs from your X/Y pad (make sure they're sending unused MIDI CC first).
Zebra2 has pads, so there's no problem there. In Hive I suppose you could use Constant as a modulation source in the mod matrix and MIDI-learn the upper modulation depths in slots 11 and 12 (again, losing those for other purposes).
OTOH I've just had a shot of rum, so I might not be thinking straight...

I'd recommend configuring the X/Y pad to transmit CC2 (Breath) and CC11 (Expression). This is how I use my KP3 and the TimeTrip pad on my V-Synth with Bazille.
With this setup, simply patch the 'Breath' and 'Xpress' outputs to the parameters which you'd like to control from the X/Y pad. This way, each axis can be routed to one or more destinations and they will be saved with the patch.

Oh great, that sounds like exactly what I want! Could you explain how to configure the X/Y pad within Bazille in this way?justin3am wrote:I'd recommend configuring the X/Y pad to transmit CC2 (Breath) and CC11 (Expression). ... With this approach, you shouldn't need to do any configuration in Bazille. You will need to change the MIDI CC assignments for the X/Y pad in your MIDI controller's settings. I don't have a Novation controller, so I'm not familiar with the process.

I have mine set to 16 and 17 as I've noticed this seems to be the default CC setting for the XY or Joystick of many plugins (eg Sculpture morph pad, Korg Wavestation plugin joystick, Arturia Prophet VS XY etc)justin3am wrote:I'd recommend configuring the X/Y pad to transmit CC2 (Breath) and CC11 (Expression). Yes, those are pretty common CCs to use for instruments which have X/Y pads but they won't help with Bazille, I'm afraid. At least not in the context of what the OP would like to do (i.e. avoiding MIDI learn, so that assignments are saved per-patch, rather than globally).

Done and done! This is exactly what I wanted, now I can finally use the XY pad! Now, if I could only figure out how to make my keyboard recall these new CC settings whenever I turn it off and on...justin3am wrote:With this approach, you shouldn't need to do any configuration in Bazille.
