So I am always looking for good training. How does this compare to the stuff on Groove3? I haven't been through all the mixing stuff.

I haven't ordered it yet. Finally tapped out from all my spending during BF. I'm also a "Lifetime member" at Mixnotes.tv, so I'm waiting for an answer back on how to get access to it under that prior purchase. But I'll let you know once I take a look.

I have been with groove3 for about 4 years now. Their stuff is pretty good overall. And Groove3 covers everything out there. This just covers a single tutorial for now it seems. The indie acoustic genre. I'm hoping it's good, but honestly until I see it I have no idea and so can't make a recommendation as yet. The tracks he uses in his demo sessions always sound really polished to my ear, and that's why I'm so interested. But I don't know how he gets it there to that point. So that's what I'm hoping is revealed. We'll see...

$20 for Vacuum Pro at JRRshop is very tempting. Should I? I already have Monark (incredible) and Ultra Analog VA-2 (solid), though.

I'll be honest I got the air bundle and have hardly used any of them. It's actually the one thing I got that I regret. I am not an expert but the quality of the sound of the plugins are not great. Like last generation compared to the plugins now. Loom isn't bad though. I'm pretty sure I've seen that vacuum pro was highly regarded but I felt the quality was poor. at $17 it's probably a fine deal but the bundle was going for like $60 ish or so for like 12 synths and expansions not long agao.

I have VA2 and Vacuum... Vacuum for $20 is a steal. its a really nice sounding synth with a unique "sheen" over the sound. and it comes with a ton of good presets. I have most of the typical soft synths out there - if Vacuum were $70-90 it would make sense to me. But try the demo if you can because every one has a different feeling about these things.

Loom sounds quite.... unique, I think - atleast that's my impression from youtube. Some quite sharp, plinky plonky FM style filtered sounds but also quite interesting - along the lines of NI's Razor. Different from the usual fat analog Moog-y stuff (Vacuum Pro, I guess).

I have Hybrid 3 and I think it's great. I know the AIR stuff isn't highly regarded.

Yeah the IEP3 upgrade is still $75. I just can't see a use in downloading gigs and gigs of stuff I may not use. Loom can be had for 91% discount on PLugin Boutique using 1 Reward Token, by the way. I'm thinking about it. So if I grab a couple of the flagship synths from the bundle I don't have (Vacuum Pro and Loom), I can probably stop there and call it done.

I was on the fence re the Air package as it seemed such a bargain. I watched all the vids but decided against in the end. Depends where someone is in terms of existing kit. If you've got a lot of stuff already its probably not gonna get you very much further, but if you were starting out it would be an excellent deal.

Loom appeals to me because of its morphing feature, Strike2 looks good but do I need yet another drum machine? And I've already got Hybrid3 which is good for a budget synth.

You can still pick up xpand!2 for a dollar btw from audiodeluxe. I went for that one! (Haven't installed it yet so can't comment on whether it represents good value for money, I suspect it will ).

I got Loom for about £12 from PluginBoutique this way, I think it's well worth that.

If you don't already have an additive synth, Loom will give you access to a range of sounds that you probably can't currently get.

If you already have Razor, they are both additive so there is a definite overlap in the type of sounds that they create. However, neither simply gives you 512 partials and lets you edit them manually - within both you build sounds using generating and processing modules, and the choice/range of modules is similar but different between the two. I like and use both.

reduced at the moment or not much more to upgrade the bundle if you have v4

Anybody know what deals the Plugin Alliance Christmas calendar had the first 7 days? I just want to know what I missed as there's a chance the last day will open the whole calendar.

Currently completely in love with all of their guitar amp emulations and considering the Engl E765 RT. However, I also very much seem to like the bassman, the rock rack and the mega dual.

I currently own the Mega Single which I consider being a complete steal at 9$.

Day 7 & 8 were bx_panEQ for $99 and bx_saturator V2 for $59.

9$ was a steal, I had tried the demo awhile back and was waiting for a special like that, if Mega-Dual ends up on the calendar I will purchase that too.
