I just sent the background .png to your email address in the readme. All I did was recolor it and saved it using Paint Shop Pro. Something I've done with success with many other plugin GUIs. Thanks for looking into the issue. Not sure what I could have done wrong. :)

Had a quick look at the INI and its looking good. Seems to provide full control over every aspect, which means the alignment inconsistencies can now be easily fixed. :)

However, ive also noticed that there are no h/w values for the background size. Are the BG dimensions not editable? Or does the size of the UI follow the size of the BG image automatically? (Or should i just add the h/w parameters myself?) I cant try it out right now so maybe you could clarify. I would like to try something wider and less tall, not precisely what layzer had in his mockup but somewhere in that general direction.

In any case, thanks. Your spending all the time and effort just so we can skin the synth is definitely appreciated.

I just wanted to re-color the background which is about all I know how to do but have done it successfully on quite a few other plugins however when I save the .png it reloads and appears to be misaligned. Guess I better leave the skinning to the experts.....
Its not you, i ran into exactly the same issue when i swapped images for the first time too. Of course i checked into it, and the upshot was that the plugin seems to have problems with the way how images are being saved. To elaborate: My PS images too were all stretched and whatnot, even though the sizes were definitely correct. And at first i thought the images can simply not be replaced. But then i remembered a similar issue with another plugin im currently making a new skin for, (well, its practically finished), where the UI would lag like hell unless i re-saved the PS images with GIMP. (Even the background, in fact especially the background even though its just a static image.) Beats me what difference it makes, but sure enough once the images were re-saved with GIMP (uncompressed PNG) the lag was gone. And the same with Cobalt. As soon as i used images re-saved with GIMP the images were displayed correctly. No more stretching, all picture perfect. Like i said, i havent the slightest as to what it is that makes the difference since saving the PS images with or without compression and with or without interlacing didnt make any difference whatsoever, but anyway, thats exactly what happened here too, so its not your editing skills.

Yes it seems so.

Tried to transfer the black skin over to the external format and noticed that the PWM OFF/ON switches are missing.

(They are referenced in the INI, but nowhere to be found on the UI.)

Something must have gone wrong with them.

Thanks, nice to know I'm not alone..... :hihi:

I did first save with Gimp before but I'm not very familiar with it so I'll have to have another go.

But anyway knowing that ENV1 is working on a skin just made my day ! :hyper: :wheee: :tu:

Try this version:

I added the missing PWM switches and hopefully fixed the graphics.

Thanks to Beatslaughter for pointing me in the right direction, and thanks to vladg for this post:

While I was looking at this page, iTunes randomly played this song.

Success ! The edited background now loads perfectly at least when saved from Gimp. I'll try Paint Shop Pro next. If I get anything worth looking at I'll post it here. Thanks ! :D

Not sure if I'm just being really dense but...

...I can't get the skin to change. I've followed the readme instructions but can't get Cobalt to display anything other than the default small skin. I even deleted the resource folder for a giggle and it still displays indicating it's not looking there for it's images??? (closed and reopened Reaper too, new project etc to ensure it isn't cached somehow).

I've tried the cobalt2 and 3 downloads.

Cheers.

Hmmm did you try the Large skin ? That's the only one I've tried to change. Which skin were you trying to use ?

Here the location is (Plugin Folder)/Cobalt 64 Bit/Cobalt Resources.
