But note that less tabs means less clicking, so don't overuse them

I'd go for the second version. More buttons on one screen means faster editing.

Wasted space? The controls on a row are laid out to fill the GUI width. And the GUI has a minimum width. But here's another view of the second one:

I see, it seams not to be so easy to organize to the gui's specifications, I guess.

This is the Easy screen, with optional tabbing, not the Edit screens with its satellites.

On a side note, DarkStar: Why do you always (only) link the thumbnails of your images? Costs an additional click every time...

Because big pics can make the forum threads awkward to read on mobile devices. And you may not want to get a 3MB download automatically
