What genres of music you do with MuLab?

Good direction! Perhaps we can do a Poll to identify the best topics for a few User Groups to work on with Jo for improving MuLab?
(For some topics, 'too many cooks in the kitchen' but for others 'many hands make light work.')

Definitely.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

I just suggested C++ to make it easier on Jo, A scripting interface would beghettosynth wrote:C++ is fine, however, it would also be cool, and potentially more secure/reliable, if, rather than an API, there was a scripting module that supported something like lua or javascript.
nice. However that would be a whole lot more work to implement.
In any event, I'm just interested in having programmatic access to the modular system.
As it stands, no matter how clever you are (I'm looking at you Taifunk!), without a procedural
interface, you will only be able to get so far.

We're on the same page bro. If there's a C++ API, I can make use of that. I would prefer it, I just don't know how Jo feels about publishing that. A scripting module can be kept bottled up. I'm not trying to argue here, I will make use of whatever is available.pekbro wrote:I just suggested C++ to make it easier on Jo, A scripting interface would beghettosynth wrote:C++ is fine, however, it would also be cool, and potentially more secure/reliable, if, rather than an API, there was a scripting module that supported something like lua or javascript.

I honestly didn't think anyone even payed any attention to that suggestion,
let alone be on the same page about it.

I'm open and interested to the idea, in fact i've got a note on the long wishlist about evaluating the idea more in depth. But currently working on other things...

Do not worry,I think that the priority for Jo is always making mulab and mux better for all.pekbro wrote:Heh, I'm not trying to argue either, was just sayin![]()

I'm not afraid of any efforts to learn something new (at least for me),so anything that might open new sounds possibility, increase the quality and push mulab/mux to the next level is welcomed by me and of course I agree with you guys and I'm also interested in these thing.
Have high-quality flexible tools for audio production It must be a goal for all users,
useful for all IMO,also for new users or users who do not want to learn advanced functions because they can always enjoy instruments, patch creations made by advanced users, without worrying about to dig deep in every single advanced function.
In another thread I asked zexila to open a thread like this,Thanks zexila.
Thanks to all guys for bringing the discussion on something interesting.

Some sort of SDK or script language would be a great addition to MUX. As a programmer I find it a bit limiting (maybe because I'm still new at mulab) so having absolute control over it wouldn't hurt. It could open up new possibilities. For example, I would probably try to make something similar to Action Strings VST that can import MusicXML from staffpad or sibelius and play entire phrases, by calling other VST instruments. So far learning mulab has been smooth compared to other DAW software, it's MUX modules and UI simplicity that bugs me. Mostly interested in orchestration so want to try to make life easier by using mux modular but it's not going great xD

For me, I'm typically creating most styles of electronic music, from electro, to dubstep, to trap, etc.
I'm currently stuck on 5 for the time being, using most of my VSTs, though I use most MuLab effects, and sometimes even get to use the modular interface to create new ones.
I'm most likely going to upgrade to 7 sometime this week or the next, to mess with a friendlier interface for building synths, as well as working with the grain player that's grasped my attention.

That solipsvs guy has a point but please PM the creator, also I want MuLab rewire?
This is kinda cool if only mulab has a rewire function we can't have that feature if MUX has installed in automatically on MuLab but I don't want MUX to be seperated on my DAW I just eant it there
. This is really tought decision tho.
