Live has some serious bugs on Windows, so I had no choice.
Serious bugs? I've never encountered any kind of bug in Live yet. What kind of problems do you have with your setup?
I've already write about that in another topic: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=475038

And you've replied to me (thanks for your help). Bug still exists and I can reproduce it on numerous PC.

Some guys have this bug too and they wrote about it on Ableton Forum. Also they told that Ableton AG confirmed that bug, but they can't tell when it's gonna be fixed.

Right, that zoom bug not present on the majority of setups. What are the other "serious bugs"?

First of all I can tell that I can reproduce it on every PC that I've tried.

Next bug is about consolidation audio time on some audio interfaces. On my Scarlett 2i2 2nd gen it takes 3 time longer than with same configuration hakintosh or my second Audient iD14 audio interface.

I'm just saying why I made a decision to switch DAW. Don't have any problems with my Cubase.

Do you mind explaining your typical workflow with Live? I suppose it works better for, well, live.

I usually compose in Guitar Pro, export full song to midi, import to cubase, and start throwing in the instruments, replacing guitars and basses with real recordings. I guess I could do the same in Live, but that's not the best way to use it, is it?

How you use Live is up to what works best for you. Its very flexible, with great routing options. I find the session view excellent for quickly sketching out ideas and "scenes", before recording them onto the arrangement view. I like being able to switch between the 2 views to try out ideas before adding them to the final arrangement. I've never had an issue with finishing whole tracks in Live, and v9 has been solid as a rock on my Win 8.1 setup. Its pretty much my ideal DAW, and I won't be switching ...

Usually I like to start with a basic beat, so I'll pick a tempo that suits the genre I want to do, then load up a blank drum rack and pick out some samples. Then I'll start with a simple kick snare pattern and add hats and cymbals, then add+remove kicks/snares as necessary. From there I'll start adding some synths, figure out my main chord progression, and get a melody going, EQing and filtering as I go to keep things from getting muddy. Once I have something I'm happy with, I'll either start adding new rows of clips in the mixer view to start getting a basic idea of an arragnement, or I'll record 8 bars of my loop onto the timeline.(i've heard that people like to dance to music with changes every 8 bars, so I like to incorporate that into most of my songs to keep them somewhat dance-able)

After that I start building out the arrangement and color coding everything to make it easier. Usually it takes me a week tops to put together a solid track, but then again I have been working with Live since I was 11 or 12. :hihi: There's no best way to use it, Live lends itself to multiple workflow styles. Importing a bunch of MIDI clips is a perfectly valid way to use it. It may be called Live and be designed for live use, but if it's gotten this popular in the electronic music market, then clearly they've made a very versatile DAW.

Fixed.

I think I remember reading on SOS or somewhere else that Live's routing is somewhat unique. I gotta see and try it, then. Thanks for your insight!

True, the scene view is one thing I found very interesting in Live and seems to be a great tool for writing. Thanks for sharing!

It's just a bit of a stretch to call those "serious bugs with Live on Windows" when the majority of users have never experienced them. I'm not claiming the issues you listed wouldn't be real, just saying that a serious bug would affect all or at least most users.

No program is ever bug-free, but I've yet to find any on Live, which I find pretty cool tbh. Anyway, it's all about finding the tool that works for you.

When somebody does that, it's usually more irritating than funny.

But the good news is that it severs any/all relationships with that person knowing full well that they are not worth any further bother. CLICK! :hihi:

It was a reasonable thread mostly, now it's gotten snobby.

End looking.
