Positive Grid is giving away Bias Pedal for free for the next few days. Get it while you can. I made a short vid about it, for those who aren't familiar.

Hmm, I wonder how this one will destroy my projects.
It's always an adventure with Positive Grid products!

You can also make your own, which is what I think takes up a lot of the 500 or so MB.chroma wrote:it sounds really good (running these into a thermionik blackverb). but wow, ~500MB for ~20 distortion pedals!
That said, the included pedals don't sound that good.

Sounded a lot better once I turned the amp simulations off. Clean blackface is horrible.

As always.. sound quality and basic features are awesome. GUI is horrible and nothing can be automated. Why on earth they make these weird plugins is beyond me. By far the most frustrating company in the plugin world. Potential is enormous.. execution very bad.
Who on earth makes a plugin in 2016 that can not be automated. Positive Grid does. Yay!
EDIT:
In case people just don't understand how serious this is:
It means that the plugin doesn't publish any parameters as VST plugin parameters. This means you can NOT use your host to save the plugin settings. You have to use the built in preset system exclusively. It also means you can not automate anything. This basically rules out any cool tricks you could do within some hosts like Live, Bitwig, FL Studio, Reaper (no saving of custom plugin chains, no use for cool scripts).
There's also the added bonus of no default plugin parameter settings.. so no double click to return to a default value on knobs, on any knobs.. not even main input and output. No value displays on anything either so forget internal or external gain staging of any kind.
It's just bizarre.. especially considering the prices of some of the plugins. I've tried emailing Positive Grid about these things but never got any answers. It's a completely mysterious company.
Anyhow, have to thank them for the freebie. No way would I ever give these cats any money though.

I had mixed feelings about this one. GUI is quite fine from the distance, but the details are somewhat over the top in a wrong way, and it chokes when turning a knob (graphics not sound), no wonder automation is off. It didn't sound, too good for me either, maybe it was just a wrong moment, I want to believe. For the moment, the whole thing seemed a big ride from WOW to WTF.bmanic wrote:As always.. sound quality and basic features are awesome. GUI is horrible and nothing can be automated.

Thanks for the video. I've downloaded but don't think I'll bother installing.

Holy fuckn shit this plugin is bad. Turns out the presets do not save the position of the main INPUT nor OUTPUT knobs. It doesn't save the noisegate nor AMP settings either which means I have to tweak these every single time I load a saved preset.
This is just BIZARRE. The sound is AWESOME.. the plugin framework and execution is HORRIBLE. WTF is going on here? From what country are these people? Please don't tell me they are Italian.. that would make way too much sense.
EDIT: They are from USA, California. Makes no sense. How can they be so out of touch when it comes to computer based plugins?

I think their "concept" is "record once, don't touch the recording again"... which is a thing, but in the "age of total recall"?

I believe you will find that is because it now also contains the 'Delay' part of BIAS Pedal (which is pretty sweet), which you can only demo unless you purchase of course, previously BIAS Pedal downloads were in the 145mb vicinity.
The modulation part of BIAS Pedal is supposedly coming soon, looking forward to that.

Say 'NO' to Clap, right after saying 'NO' to REAPER!!!
