Again, what you are writing isn't true. A mediocre 1080P screen costs between 80 and 250 euro's. It has been like that for years and years. Hell, i even bought a 1920x1200 screen 12 years ago for 300 euro's. 4k displays begin @ around 300 euro's (for a shitty display btw). A mediocre 4K goes for 400 to 600 euro's and the better ones start at 600 ~ 700 euro's.msvs wrote:it will be in the next years. I think so. Prices will fall rapidly.Which isn't true at all. Not by a long shot. Not even with pro-users. Hell, 4K isn't standard in "tv-world" at all. I am not sure where Manuel gets that info...That's all i am saying. It will take a long time before 4K becomes standard and i think therefor a good scalable UI is the best way to go
Atm you can get 1080p TFTs for >100€. Several years ago, FULL HD was pricey as 4k is atm.
You can get something beyond 1080p for 250€ already. If you can afford several VSTi's you can afford this, too.
regarding TVs: I bought a TV for xmas and it would have been hard to get a decent one, which is NOT 4k atm. So I went for a 4k (even if I do not see the benefit in 4k for a TV, when you sit 5m away)
Of course I am talking about Germany. It may differ completely in other countries.
We are still waiting for 1080P becomming the general resolution. And then we have another resolution which will go first: 1440P. This will take some years and after that, it is 4K's turn. Believe me, it will take more then 5 to 8 years, before 4K is the most used resolution in displays (laptops, external displays).
So, if you mean by "in the next years", 'in about 7 to 10 years', then yes. But not in the next couple (2 to 3) of years.
