Hello,
My very first post here. I have searched the forum and have looked at about half of the excellent tutorial videos and I have one thing that I can't find.

Is it possible to play after recording all the tracks at once but at a slower speed?

Thanks

Click on the BPM in the transport section (lower right corner), then edit the BPM in the properties panel.
[W10-64, T5/6/7/W8/9/10/11/12/13, 32(to W8)&64 all, Spike],[W7-32, T5/6/7/W8, Gina16] everything underused.

Jabe,
Thanks but that doesn't change anything. If I click on the actual track then I can adjust speed but that changes the pitch. I am still looking at Demo's of DAW's and I like this one the best but this is not working as others do. I should be able to playback at different speeds without the pitch changing, well that's what I need anyway. I'm using T5 is that the issue? Does T7 adjust properly?

Thanks
Curtis

I'm am so disappointed. Either I'm doing something wrong but I can't figure out how to change the speed up or down and get the pitch to remain the same.

I've messed with five other DAW's and none of them change pitch with playback speed changes.

Ugh, Tracktion is my favorite of the lot and I even received a discount code today but this is a deal breaker.
Sad for me.

So you're saying other DAWs can play audio at other speeds without affecting the pitch? You could probably do it with the Melodyne plug-in, but I don't know how you'd do it otherwise.

select a clip and down in the properties panel under "stretch" in the dropdownmenu (click on it) choose "Elastique (Pro)". then change the speed parameter right beneath it. the clip will stretch or shrink accordingly.

you can "multiselect" clips and do the operation for all at once.

Edit: corrected myself regarding multiselection

to add:
when you hold down "alt" while moving a clipborder, it will stretch or shrink the clip.
if no timestretching algorithm is chosen, it will be resampled (means it changes speed AND pitch).
it is the same as changing the speedparameter in the properties pane and will be reflected there.

this also works with multiselection of clips.

What do you have IN your clips? MIDI events should play in pitch normally.

Recorded audio might be a challenge - there are several ways of time stretching/compressing that may have to be used, which will presumably require more than just changing the BPM of the overall piece. Each audio track will have a setting on how to treat time and pitch changes. In my case, changing the BPM didn't actually change time and pitch at all, but left the audio "intact" but horribly out of sync with MIDI. Various settings for stretching/compressing the timeline can be selected; but the default (according to the help text) is that compressing will raise pitch and expending will lower. There are 5 alternate options that can be used; but it looks like this is set on a track-by-track basis.

clip by clip basis actually. every clip can be treated differently.

Thanks for the very helpful replies folks!

Very helpful, yes changing to Elastique was the ticket. There sure are a lot of options for Elastique any tips on what the differences are? I can't hear them.

So as probably all of us have done we've tried a bunch of DAW's and I also like Reaper and Samplitude however, I seem to keep coming back to Tracktion. The only thing I see is that once in awhile during playback I get pauses, not always but periodically. I've been watching the CPU monitor and some items are running 40% or so. When I run Reaper it never gets above 10%. I'll do some lengthy recordings and if there are no issues there then it looks like Tracktion will get my hard earned cash.

Happy New Year

Yes, I wish there was a way to slow down playback speed without changing the pitch (other then using Elastique Pro). Something like what YouTube has would suit me.
