Black Winny, long time no see

Happy new year to you :tu:

 SynthMaster is the current top seller at GC...

Hello Numanoid and all the friends !

Yes I've been absent for months because of my health (as some of you know what is my problem for life) but also for a nice reason, a musical project I'm working on which will run for four years for sountracks of a documentary video series.

Here are some posts of 2014 where I told about this project: A very enthralling project!

Both (my health and this wonderful project) take almost all my time...

A happy new year to you all!

I'm now severely diseased since September 2018.

Well... now had a time to install it and play with it a bit. On first sight definitely not as disappointing as ACE was. Maybe because it's not just a VA but more of a digital synth. I'm sure I will get some usage out of it eventually when I want to go deeper than the Player version. Interface is not very good but improvement over mag versions. Overall it's not stunning or very exciting for me but not feeling that bad either about the 10$.

Edit:
Does anyone know where to get an init patch for it?
Ignore. Found answer from manual. :hihi:
No signature here!

Has anyone got their codes yet for this? I just called Guitar Center and they told me the dev hasn't sent out the codes yet!
INTERFACE: RME ADI-2/4 Pro/Antelope Orion Studio Synergy Core/BAE 1073 MPF Dual/Heritage Audio Successor+SYMPH EQ
SYNTHS: Arturia Polybrute 12/Roland Jupiter X + Juno X/Yamaha Montage M/Yamaha KX88/Softsynths + Samplers
PEDALS: Chase Bliss Mood MK II

GC must've ran out of licenses, or maybe the time zone difference is playing a part in the delay, because I received my license/serial within 30 minutes of purchasing on 1/1. I'm in the US.

It's showing on my paypal as pending... so just waiting for the codes to be sent before they take it I guess.

This is very tempting but I think I will pass since:

1. I don't like the synth's monochrome, busy UI.
2. Support in the KV331 forum seems consistently bad.
3. There will be a cost to upgrade to 3.0 soon. kv331 wrote "SM 2.8 -> 3.0 upgrade : $29"

I will reconsider when it hits 3.0. They are not shy about having sales.

When I open the GC website, first popup window says: "Welcome! We ship to the Netherlands!".

When I go to add Synthmaster on GC website it displays: "This item doesn't currently ship to Netherlands"

No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Which totally explains the $10 blowout price. It's a cash grab before the update release. Still, depending on what's in the update, I'd pay $39 for this synth now that I've had it. I still wouldn't pay $80 for it though.

Hm, I think I save my 10$ for the Omnisphere for 40$ promotion :)

Beside Zebra, ACE is a wonderful instrument, of course... but very conventional in comparison to Zebra.
It is, but, it's also rather unique in terms of VA synths. Granted, the filter is not quite as good as Diva's, but, other than Reaktor, there's not much that can compare in terms of flexibility.

No?? 80 bucks seem cheap for the "amount of synth" one gets...Or is it just not your cup of tea?

I was thinking, what if they get hundreds of customers on top now, due to that sale? If support is already slow now (i also read about unanswered emails, or forum support requests), what will it be like with all those new customers now? I don't think, as a company, you do yourself a favour with selling as many copies as you can, when the manpower just isn't sufficient.
