Great program, has made making music so much quicker for me, the ease of using filters and routing, racks, etc. One problem I having is though of finishing a tune.
When I mix down VST instruments each instance of it comes out differently. As in I render 3 identical bits of a sequence and each one comes out differently, and then when i do it again different results again.
Now this can be a good thing, I've had some great results on one part of it, far better than I had originally heard it realtime, which I just then chop up and put back in the tune - awseome. But when I can't mixdown without the snare sounding different each bar it gets a bit of a pain to mix everything down again and again. Each mixdown i do comes out so differently.
So has anyone any tips or suggestions or similar experiences. At the mo I have taken to writing in Tracktion then mixing and mastering in Cubase, which I admit is a bit of a pain.
Will post some examples of what I'm saying soon.

Well, it all depends what type of processing is being used. A chorus running unsynced or some reverbs will create different results each time. But a dry sample played through no FX should always render exactly the same.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I haven't encountered the same thing... odd! I can see why that would be a frustrating thing.
Does Battery have an option to introduce slight randomness to the notes in order to emulate realistic drumming? That could be one. The other plugins that are synchable... are they, in fact, synched? (Ie. have you double-checked-- might either be set up wrong or programmed incorrectly by the developer)
If there is ANY sort of randomness or lack of sync being introduced by any of the tracks, it will affect the overall track due to the master reverb. Other than that, a reverb should be a predictable plugin, so I don't imagine the reverb is CAUSING the problem, but rather is enhancing or reinforcing it.

In the end i changed the reverb plug-in and everything seemed to work perfectly. Funny considering it is a TC plug-in and so a good one. I don't think Battery has any randomness emulator built in, and in any case I am using a sampled break, which will have enough randomness in the first place!
About the randomness of synch I did have some trouble with the Ohmboys plug-in staying at the right bpm since I put a tempo change from 85 to 170. The Ohmboys either stayed at 85, the starting tempo, or at 170. In the end I automated the bpm on it. This was another potential cause of the problem since it was acting as a send effect on the beats.
Thanks for the help, oh and if you want to have a listen to this tune go to:

I've also had this problem. Often, at the start of a mixdown, I get instantaneous reverb tails which I assume were stuck in memory until the thing played again.

And I always have e-to-e enabled, so if that's the culprit, it makes sense that I wouldn't have noticed.
Glad to hear the other niggles were sorted out, too (ie. the BPM ramping). Sounds like you're doing a lot of stuff that I never even attempt. Being a numpty has its uses, like never discovering glitches in the deeper features of the program.
