Mulab 7 keeps losing user key

I purchased a licence for Mulab 7 on 1st Jan 2017 and entered user key I received in email and all good, until next time I went to run it and got the white noise. Checked user key and it wasn't there so put it in again and all good. It happens every time I open program, I have to go look for the email and put key in again and again and again. Why isn't it remembering it and how do I resolve this?

Desktop
----------------------\Mulab
------------------------------ \mulab-7-2-17-win64 (this forgets key)
------------------------------- \ older_versions
------------------------------------------------- \MuLab_6 (this remembers key)

Odd. Maybe some permissions issue on your system?
Your user key should be stored in the User/Settings/MainSetup.txt file so you can check if that file contains your user key and if the modification date is updated after each run.

The old version has it's V6 key in it.
But the V7 file just says
ApplicationRunCount=1
and nothing else. I started to doubt I was running correct version so restarted and yes I am running 7 and not 6 and no it still hasn't updated after a close and restart
Yes I know Desktop is not really the place for it, but I stuck it there when I d/l v7 and just haven't moved it yet

OK here is a strange thing
I closed and reopened several times and checked the text file in settings each time before and after entering the key and nothing changed.
I checked the key in the old V6 and it is definately different to the V7 key I was entering in V7
I removed the folder with the old versions
Reopened V7 still no key, entered the key and hey ho the text file accepted it. closed Mulab and reopened and now it opened with the menu buttons for new - open demo etc and demo opened with the tracks and midi data in place whereas before Mulab just opened without giving me a menu and loaded a demo the tracks and racks but no midi data

It's the first time i hear something like this (appart from the case mentioned in the docs), don't know what's going on, but i assume it's something specific on your system. Maybe try moving the MuLab 7 folder to another place? Or reinstall it somewhere else?

From that, I'd be pretty sure you've got the folder permissions such that you can't write.But the V7 file just says
ApplicationRunCount=1
Delete the install. Put it somewhere Windows has no knowledge of.

Move your Mulab folder to another place totally free of any restriction.
For example C:\My programs\Mulab\
When I write "\My programs\" it is not "\Program files\" neither "\Program files (x86)\" it is really "\My programs\" (or whatever name you want to give it).
And you'll see that everything will come back to normal.
