I've been trying to figure out how to delete a certain part of an audio file that I recorded. I've tried splitting it but it only splits on the second. I tried going into the editor for the selected part and highlighting and right clicking to bring up the menu. It says delete audio file but instead of deleting just the part I highlighted it deletes the whole file, and I made sure I only had the part I wanted to edit selected. I don't know If I'm just dumb but why can't I just left click highlight the audio I want to delete and hit delete? Is there even a way to edit audio waves that I record myself because the only thing I see on mulab tutorials are people using instruments from mulabs or midi?

Split the audio part at the left + right of the section you want to delete, then delete that section. If you want to use a finer grid for the splits, use the grid panel at the bottom-right of the composer.

When you have your audiofile opened in the wave editor and have chosen the part you want to delete - then right click and under DSP Functions and choose mute.
