Yeah, I have way too many drum samples and plugs to justify buying any more. But the GAS doesn't care... :P

I watched a few vids of the Big Bang and Cinematic drums this evening, and they don't seem to add much to what I already have. Still contemplating the Tony Coleman, though. I think I need to get out the last decade's mindset and quit equating 'lots of gigabytes' with 'lots of value'.
I've got the exact same problem. Exactly.

And it's definitely a mindset problem. We honor value, but don't honor the concept of waste.
It's a prioritization and habit problem.
I was going to comment on this because I went on this somewhat deep exploration of piano libraries before buying the Sonnivox piano. In essence, I think that the Sonnivox libraries are larger than their sound quality would predict.

Can I hear the difference between the sixteen layers in the piano and some of the other libraries that I have that have far fewer layers, yes. So, ultimately, I bought their piano. But only because it was super cheap. Had it cost much more I would have passed because I think that other libraries sound much better for the same or lower size.

I think the main hesitation I have with Sonivox is that they seem to have a rep, here and elsewhere on-line, for plugs that can be unpredictably sub-par and often unstable.
Indeed. I would say without a doubt that their Wobble and Twist plugins are total shite but their simple sample player is stable enough and their samples are definitely usable.

I found the 88 piano actually works well in a mix as the second piano. Similar to doubling but it doesn't upset the main piano. It blends nice and doesn't overwhelm, if that makes sense. It wasn't the first I tried but worked the best.

I don't mean to imply that I don't like it. I think that it's decent. I'm just saying that I think that it isn't as great as the size might lead you to think. I definitely like how it plays and that's largely because of the number of layers. I do think that it's worth $15 or so that you can get it for now. I even think that the bundle is worth the asking price and that's assuming that you just never install Wobble or Twist, I just already have three of the components from the bundle that I think are worthwhile so I'm just going to pass.

I do not, however, think that it's worth anything close to the $150 retail price. There are MUCH better choices in that bracket.

I really want the new (since Komplete 10) NI pianos, but I'm holding off on that upgrade.

I purchased 3 (+1 free) and now want to spend them on the VSL special edition, but I don't see how to apply the vouchers. Anyone know?
Hi, sorry, I somehow keep getting unsubscribed from this thread. Please contact us and we will be able to apply the vouchers for you:

The M1 is worth getting for that infamous, ubiquitous piano. There's a free sample library of it for Logic but I don't know if it sounds exactly the same.

I'm thinking of converting my real piano to an Una-Corda, too.

Very likely to guarantee more sales due to an early release NI will include ABsynth 6 or Massive 2. K12 will also have something new. The next release cycle will be back to normal. All this is because they missed Kontakt 6 in Komplete 11. My two cents.
K11 was released 8/2/16. I think in the 12 years of Komplete, they've all been at least a year apart from one another.

Keane blended real pianos with their CP-70. Live, the pianist played a CP-70 exclusively. I've always adored the original Addictive Keys video and the part near the end sounds to me like a piano layered with an electric grand:

Interesting. You know though, real pianos, at least uprights, are so cheap these days that I could see that becoming a thing.

Look at all the predictions I have made.
I have a perfect record.
I mean 100%.
With that kind of record you would think I would stop predicting.

My copy of the BB cinematic kept crashing and closing out on my mac mini. Sounded good but kept closing out. Became cheesy after the 3rd time. I hear it works fine under windows though. Worth it for the sounds for how cheap it is though. But yeah, Sonivox need to learn to invest in upkeep so as to keep their name from being associated with cheap abandonware. Their culture evidently doesn't support that line of thinking yet.

And it seems I've now mistakenly posted gossip/discussion items 3 times now in the no chat thread...

What this proves is that my decision not to become an electrician was well founded.
