ok, I would like to try out what so many T users talk about: Use eXT inside Tracktion.

But ermh... What version of eXT should I download? The site has both beta's and stable versions, effect-versions and instrument-version.... :help:

All of em! Not sure about the FX vs. Instrument ones though. Possibly more for hosts that treat FX and VSTi differently? So the VSTi one will have "(synth)" next to it on Ts filter list I presume. New to it myself actually so I'll shut the f**k up and find out.

They're all included in the same 39 bux. So get all of them. The beta's are usually very stable aswell. But if you're really concerned about beta's you should get the last release. The effect version doesnt have all the features of the Instrument version. And the standalone functions on its own. :)

The advantage of using the instrument version in Tracktion is you will be able to configure how many outputs you want if you want to use it inside the Rack Filters and take advantage of Tracktions routing and possible PDC(eXT has no PDC)...and Tracktion won't be able to compensate for any delays you create inside XT.

The advantage of using the Effect version, is you also have an audio input on the plugin to route other filters/tracks into XT. But you cannot configure the Effect version for multiple outputs.

...but jorgen plans to make it so you can figure XT to have however many inputs and outputs you want, stereo or mono and save these multiple configurations as seperate plugins.

I forgot to mention, there is no Stable version of XT really, they all tend to be pretty stable, but when jorgen decides to call something final, usually has nothing to do with stability, or the fact that it was tested for a long time. Usually he's adding features right up till the day he calls it a new version. There has been a couple "Final" releases that had bugs that didn't get fixed until the next "beta" ...and yet people still continued to use the bugged "Final" version unknowingly (usually any bugs are pretty minor). The latest beta is usually your best bet.
