To get the necessary "#" on my mac with british keyboard layout I usually just press ALT+3 - that doesn't work in the GROUP field.
If I change layout to US english, I can get it with SHIFT+3

Isn't it daft though that Mac keyboards lack such an important symbol both for programmers and social media users.

It's a quirk of the british layout as we have the "£' symbol on SHIFT+3 rather then the usual "#" found on other layouts.
We have to press ALT+3 to get "#" with the british layout, but that doesn't work in the group field.

Well, I'm afraid these special characters would be a problem. It may work and system may send it, but I doubt that would work on the main plugin view, especially with VST.

I can type #'s with no problem into other VSTs eg Predator 2 and Diva.

Suggestion: add # (and any other essential characters) to the Symbols section of the pop-up virtual keyboard.
PS That Symbols section is not displayed here at all (it used to be, in previous versions). I get these displays with each click:

On the subject of text entry, it would be nice to have the return or enter key on my (Mac) keyboard be parsed in the same way as clicking on the ENTER key in the virtual keyboard. At present it is ignored, so to add a new line in notepad for example, I have to use the virtual keyboard.

Also when entering text into a text field, the backspace key doesn't work. If you open up the on screen keyboard then it works fine (when pressing on a physical keyboard)

The physical mac keyboard backspace key does work for me in the text fields eg multiparameter NAME & GROUP fields.

It all quite depends on the OS and host sadly. Not that things couldn't be hacked, but that would cause lots of troubles (and on OSX who knows if is possible at all, Apple always says "we don't want you to do that, so it cannot be done..." blabla...

Well I'm on windows and the backspace doesn't work. To be honest I'm not really that bothered because I can move back a character and use delete instead. But just wanted to mention it.

thing is, I can type #'s and newlines using my keyboard in just about every other plugin I own, so I'm struggling with this as a reason.MeldaProduction wrote:It all quite depends on the OS and host sadly. That's because these plugins probably show an overlay window. Try the same thing here and show a popup.
