combining step sequencers

I was experimenting with ways to combine step sequencers to create even more complex patterns. In the attached example is a patch composed of three step sequencers, a note dispatcher, and three bass instruments. To trigger the step sequencers, I've drawn a single long note. Usually I don't hear the drawn note but instead hear the step sequencers, which is good. In this particular example, I think I am hearing both the step sequencers and the long trigger note. I'm not sure of the problem, but I always have to hit the "panic" button to stop the sequence. Any suggestions?

Thanks bibz1st. If you run the patch for a minute or two and then stop it--does all the sound stop or is there a drone that continues? If there is a drone, what is causing it?

Will check again soon but off the top of my head it might be because an odd "note off" event is not getting through for some reason. I have had stuck notes sometimes when using the on screen keyboard with one hand and switching tween different synths with the mouse, so maybe when the dispatcher swaps synth something similar is happening, not sure. Add an event monitor to try and locate the issue

Ok, the droning is from the midi part looping over and over, you can see this by just turning off all 3 seq, the note created by the midi event still travels through the modules and triggers the synth on the first output peg of the dispatcher. If you want it to loop continuously you might be better in this case to get rid of the midi part altogether and change each sequencers settings to
And then starting the sequencers by pressing a key on your keyboard (no need to keep it pressed), then you can change the key manually, if the last key you hit is the same as the one before it then the sequence will stop. Experiment with the various settings. I've added a slightly modified version below, remember you dont need a midi part for this to run.

Modulys - free for Mulab
Just installed it... tested it... and put after an hour in header of my very small list of favorite step-sequencers! Incredible to see that this gem is free for the Mulab owners and seems to continue its improvements! If it was distributed as payware I would pay for it the same level of price than other excellent payware step-sequencers!
